She attended country school in western Montana, studied for one year at Slayton High School and graduated from Conrad High School in Montana in 1930. She then worked summers at Glacier National Park and winters at the Blackfoot Indian Agency in Browning, MT. They farmed there until Burts health failed. Burt passed away on December 31, 1993. Christine continued living on the farm and moved into Slayton to the Westside Apartments. Due to failing health, she entered the Slayton Manor Care Center on October 4, 2003 and she passed away there on May 4, 2005 at the age of 93 years.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where she had served as unit leader, secretary-treasurer and historian. She loved the outdoors, kept a big yard and garden, and enjoyed canning the garden produce, cooking and baking, especially Scandinavian food. Crafts, writing letters, family genealogy and traveling with her husband, were some of Christines favorite pastimes.
