Arthur Doubler, 96
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, December 26, 2005 for Arthur J. Doubler, age 96, of Walnut Grove.
Arthur J. Doubler was born December 23, 1908 in Annawan, IL to Henry & Rose (Bohart) Doubler. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith.
On May 29, 1940, Arthur was united in marriage to Reva Schultz. Together the couple lived and farmed in the Walnut Grove area their entire lives. Reva passed away in 1992. Art continued living in Walnut Grove until entering the Valley View Manor in Lamberton on September 25, 2004. Arthur was a member of the Lions Club, Ducks Unlimited, and the National Rifle Association. He was a volunteer for the DNR Gun Training. Art enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trap shooting.
Arthur passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at the Valley View Manor in Lamberton, MN.
Art Doubler is survived by his children: John A. Doubler and wife Gloria of Walnut Grove, Patricia A. Nicolai and husband Marv of Brainerd, and Rena R. Thompson of Orlando, FL; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Reva in 1992, brother Walter in 1994, daughter-in-law Janice Doubler in 1997, and a special friend Vicki Blawa in 2003.
Interment is in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The Walnut Grove Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Ella Bedow, 92
Funeral services were held for Ella Greenman Bedow at Mt. Vernon Memorial in Fair Oaks, CA on December 23, 2005.
Ella was born on September 9, 1913 and passed away on December 20, 2005 in Orangevale, CA of natural causes. She was 92. Ella was born in Shetek Township, Murray County, Garvin, MN on the family farm. She graduated from Tracy, MN High School in 1932.
Ella and Chet were married in Slayton, MN on September 9, 1932. They moved to Roseville, CA in 1934 until 1946 at which time the family moved to a farm near Lake Fremont, south of Tracy, MN. They sold the farm and moved back to Citrus Heights, CA in December 1950. They moved to their current home in Orangevale in 1951 where the family still resides.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Earl Chet Bedow, and son Eugene Bedow, age 58, both from lung cancer; her father, Charles D. Greenman, mother Edna Drake Greenman, sisters Myrtle Samuelson, Pearl Root, Della Daniels Acasio, Nellie Alexander, Lettie Visker and brothers Raymond and Earl (Buck) Greenman.
She is survived by two daughters, Lettie Binning and Dee Collinsworth and husband Frank, all of Orangevale. Grandmother, lovingly known as Nannie to Susan (Bob) Nore, Ann (Phil) Cunningham, Jack Binning, Frank (Judy) Collinsworth and Geno (Nancy) Bedow. Great-grandmother of Kathy (Marc) Kohler, Russel Grey, Lindsey, Lauren and Lainey Collinsworth, Jacob and Erich Kelsch, Chad and Tylar Binning, Mary, Eugene Earl and Raymond Bedow. Great-great-grandmother of Keith Hayes and Kyla Ball and many nieces and nephews.
We want to thank all of you that were so kind and loving to Ella and her two daughters when she broke her hip in Tracy in May 2005 while she was there visiting family and to attend the funeral of her niece Lois Alexander.
Also, the family wishes to thank all of you for your cards, phone calls, letters, flowers and gifts that have been sent to her for the past six months in her celebration of life.
