Norma Elaine (Lien) Hansen, 80

Norma Elaine (Lien) Hansen passed away Nov. 15, 1999 at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Riverside, CA. Burial was in the Olivewood Memorial Cemetery, Riverside, CA.

She was born July 31, 1919 the daughter of John and Mabel Lien of Garvin, MN. She graduated from Tracy High School in 1937.

She enlisted in the Waves in May 1943 serving as a SK 1/C on Treasure Island ending up as a secretary to the Admiral in charge of supplies for the Pacific Fleet.

On August 19, 1945 she married H. Benjamin Hansen Jr. in Huntington Park, CA.

She is survived by her husband Ben, two daughters Ann Fabian of Aurora, CO, Cindy Hansen of Long Beach, CA, one son John (Bonnie) Hansen, one grandson Matthew of Riverside, CA and one brother Neil Lien of Evansville, WI.

Preceding her in death were one grandson Eric Hansen, her parents, two sisters and one brother, Bernice Johnson, Mildred Lien and Milo Lien.

Kathryn Boehm, 86

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999 for Kathryn Boehm at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in De Smet, SD. Father Cathal Gallagher, officiated with Pat Couglin as organist.

Casket bearers were Gary Lenz, Kenny Junker, Luverne Crosser, Loren Moore, Randy Asleson and Delver Williams.

Kathryn A. Boehm was born March 16, 1913 to Emil and Kathryn Peterson at Tracy, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in Tracy, graduating from Tracy High School.

After high school, Kathryn moved to Minneapolis, where she performed electrical work on airplanes. She met Carl Boehm and the couple was married on May 21, 1945 at Long Beach, CA. They settled in the Bancroft, SD area, where they farmed for a period of time before moving into the city of De Smet. Kathryn worked for Jack and Jill for many years, retiring in 1983.

After Carl's death in 1992, Kathryn moved into the Railroad Apartments in De Smet.

She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and her hobbies included gardening and playing cards.

Kathryn passed away on November 30, 1999.

Survivors included her daughter, Mary Kay Johnson, Brookings, SD; one sister Agnes Seykora, Tracy, MN and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, four brothers and two sisters.

Interment was at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Cemetery, De Smet, SD. Funeral arrangements by Osthus Funeral Home, De Smet, SD.
