Armand Howe, 72

Armand Howe, age 72, of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Milroy, MN, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000 in Tucson. Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2000 from Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Milroy will burial in Our Savior's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Armand Howe as born Wednesday, November 2, 1927 on the family farm in Underwood Township, Redwood County, Minnesota to James and Selma (Johnson) Howe. He grew up near Milroy and attended country school. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Faith in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Milroy. Armand joined the U.S. Air Force in 1947 and served in Japan. After his discharge from the Air Force he returned to the family farm farming with his father until his father's death. In 1977 Armand went to Oregon and traveled for the next number of years and has lived in Tucson, AZ for the past 7 years. He loved to walk and travel and was a life member of the V.F.W.

Armand is survived by his two sisters, Alice Wright and Aileene Howe both of Mankato and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Sunset Funeral Home of Wabasso handled arrangements.

Anna K. Klein, 89

Mass of christian burial was held on Monday, July 1, 2000 at St. Mary's Catholic Church for Anna M. Klein. Fr. Brian Mandel officiated with Justin Lessman as organist and Judy Lenertz, soloist

Honorary casket bearers were Frank DeSleer, Richard Klein and Dr. A.G. Nauman. Casket Bearers were Don Klein, Bob Klein, Jerry Klein, John Klein, Jim Klein and Charles Klein, Jr.

Anna Kathryn Klein was born November 25, 1910 to John and Frances (Slama) Dobias at Milroy, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael's Church in Milroy. Graduated from Milroy High School and received her teacher's certificate at Tracy Normal School.

She taught in several country schools in the Tracy area until she married Charles Klein on June 28, 1932 in Milroy. They farmed north of Tracy for 5 years and then farmed south of Tracy until 1964.

Anna was active in St. Mary's Church and Ladies Guild. After retiring from farming she moved to Marshall where she worked at Swift's and the Weiner Memorial Nursing Home. Her husband died in February 1990. In May 1995, she entered the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy. Since last May she has resided at the Weiner Memorial Nursing Home. Anna passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2000.

Anna enjoyed gardening - especially flowers, crocheting, baking, playing her accordion, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.

Anna is survived by two daughters, Evelyn and Dr. A.G. Nauman, Helen and Frank DeSleer; seven sons and their wives, Richard and Jemelie, don and Norma, Bob and Jane, Jerry and Dehlia, John and Marilyn, Jim and ginger, chuck and Unhi; 28 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Her parents, husband, one sister and four brothers preceded her in death.

Interment was at Calvary Cemetery with Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy handling arrangements.
