33 straight championships is hard golf record to beat

Seldom has a local sport been dominated by one person for as long a time as Margaret "Maggie" Johnson has dominated ladies golf in Tracy.

She has won the ladies championship at the Tracy Country Club an unprecedented 33 times! Her first championship came in 1953 and her most recent one was in 1997.

She has not only been a consistent winner but has served as a role model for other female golfers, plus helping many individuals with their swing and mental approach to the game.

In the early days of the Tracy Country Club she and her husband Don were the leading golfers among both women and men. Don won the club championship in 1957 and again in 1959.
