Warren Pack, 78

Funeral services were held on Aug. 2, 2001 at the United Methodist Church in Walnut Grove for Warren Pack.

Warren Henry Pack was born in North Hero Township, the son of Lloyd and Grace (Wessling) Pack, on December 16, 1922 on the family farm. He attended rural schools and farmed with his father, then went into the army from 1942 until 1945.

He was united in marriage to Gloria Williams on November 22, 1950 at Sherburn, MN. The couple farmed in the Walnut Grove area since.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 267 of Walnut Grove for 55 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Walnut Grove. Warren enjoyed fishing, golf and making wooden toys for the grandchildren.

Warren passed away at his home in Rural Walnut Grove on July 30, 2001 at the age of 78.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; three sons, Bryon of Hutchinson, MN, Boyd and wife Debbie of Farmington, MN and Ricky of Walnut Grove; three grandchildren, Jordon, Jasa and Travis; two sisters Genevieve DeCourcy, Richfield, MN and Lolita Gremmert, Mankato, MN; one brother Cliff and wife Melba Pack, Walnut Grove; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; two sisters.

The Jacobson Funeral Home of Walnut Grove handled arrangements.

Marilyn Wreath, 69

Funeral services for Marilyn "Rusty" Wreath will be held on Thurs., Aug. 9 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Balaton.

Rev. Steven Quist will officiate. Wally Miller is the soloist and Lisa Parker is the organist. Rusty passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2001 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home at the age of 69 years.

Casketbearers are her grandchildren: Mark Ruud, Thomas Ruud, Krista VanNote, Eric Olson, Nathan Olson, Jill Wreath and Hilary Wreath. Honorary bearers are grandchildren Kayla Revel and Michael Revel. Burial will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Balaton.

Arrangements are being handled by Almlie Funeral Service of Balaton.

Marilyn "Rusty" Vivian Wreath was born December 10, 1931 in Stanley Township of Lyon County, Minnesota to George and Vivian (Willard) Meyer. She grew up in Stanley Township and attended rural public schools and Marshall High School, graduating in 1949.

On February 17, 1950, Rusty and John Wreath were married at Marshall, Minnesota. They made their home on a farm and in 1955 moved to a farm in the rural Balaton area.

Rusty was a loving wife and mother and helped her husband on the farm.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Balaton where she was active in circle and had served as a choir director. She enjoyed music, playing piano and singing.

Her other interests included visiting friends, spending time with family and grandchildren, baking, cooking and listening to the Minnesota Twins.

She is survived by her husband, John; three daughters, Katherine Ruud and Sue Olson, both of Marshall; Julie and husband Roy Revel of Lynd, MN; one son, Michael and wife Colleen of Balaton; nine grandchildren, Mark and Thomas Ruud, Krista VanNote and husband Nathan, Eric and Nathan Olson, Jill and Hilary Wreath, Kayla and Michael Revel; one brother, Donald and wife Mae of Montrose, IA; one sister, Sharon and husband Wally Miller of Hudson, WI; son-in-law, Ron Ruud; and many other relatives and friends.

Her parents, infant son, Douglas and son-in-law, Terry Olson preceded her in death.

Roberta Eleanor Lorenz, 81

Memorial services were held on Aug. 5, 2001 for Roberta Eleanor Lorenz at By Point Christian Church in St. Petersburg, Florida. Reverend Jay Cave Conducted the services. Interment and graveside service will be held on September 1, 20Q1 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tracy Cemetery.

Roberta Eleanor Johnson 81 was born June 10, 1920 in Hazelton, North Dakota to Henry and Mabel Johnson. she passed away July 31, 2001 at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.

Roberta was married to Richard Hanson of Walnut Grove in 1938. Roberta and Richard parented three children, Dorothy, Kenneth and Helen while residing in Walnut Grove.

On July 31, 1954 Roberta married Dale E. Lorenz and resided in Dell Rapids, SD. Dale and Roberta also lived in Wisconsin, Colorado and Washington. Upon Dale's retirement in 1990 they relocated to Walnut Grove to enjoy their retirement years, Dale passed away in October of 1993.

After visiting son Ken in Florida for Christmas 1994, Roberta decided to sell all and move south to sunny St. Petersburg, FL in February of 1995

Roberta resided in St. Petersburg until her death. She had been an active church member as well as other activities within the church and apartment community in which she resided.

Daughters Dorothy Jarman and husband Dennis of Salton City, CA and Helen Metza and husband Bill of Jim Falls, Wl, and a son Kenneth Hanson and wife Sandra of St. Petersburg, FL, survive Roberta.

Other survivors include her 9 grandchildren and 12 great grand children, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husbands Richard and Dale, three brothers, Jack, Kirk and Richard and one infant sister.

Jacobson Funeral Service of Tracy and Walnut Grove are in charge of the services.
