Alice E. Luttmer, 76

Alice E. Luttmer, age 76 of LeSueur died on Saturday, August 11 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in LeSueur.

Funeral services were held on Tues., Aug. 14 at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Thad Bitter officiating. Interment was held at the Mound Cemetery, LeSueur. Arrangements were handled by Kolden Funeral Home of LeSueur.

She was born in Sodus Township, Lyon County, MN on May 5, 1925 to Frank and Bernice (Hagensen) Greenbush. She attended Tracy area schools and graduated from Tracy High School in 1943.

She married Leo Luttmer on Aug. 5, 1944 at Marshall, MN. The couple lived in Tracy until 1949 when they moved to LeSueur. She worked for many years as a LPN and Human Service Technician at the St. Peter Regional Hospital until her retirement in 1987.

Her husband, Leo, passed away in March of 1982. She later married Melvin Luttmer on Oct. 23, 1993 at Grace Lutheran Church in LeSueur.

Alice was very active in Minnesota Valley Health Care Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and the Over 60 Club.

She enjoyed time with her family, playing cards and traveling.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin of LeSueur, daughters, Barbara (Bruce) Jones of Maple Grove, MN, Nancy (Terry) Genelin of LeSueur, MN, Susan (Roger) Palmer of Fairmont, MN; step-daughters Deb (Steve) Wellnitz, Prior Lake, MN, Deann (Chris) Reinke of LeCenter, MN; her sister, Vera (Kenneth) Anderson of Tracy; brother Tom (Marsha) Greenbush of Corcoran, MN; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, six step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her first husband and two brothers.

Warren Pack, 78

Funeral services were held on Aug. 2, 2001 at the United Methodist Church in Walnut Grove for Warren Pack.

Warren Henry Pack was born in North Hero Township, the son of Lloyd and Grace (Wessling) Pack, on December 16, 1922 on the family farm. He attended rural schools and farmed with his father, then went into the army from 1942 until 1945.

He was united in marriage to Gloria Williams on November 22, 1950 at Sherburn, MN. The couple farmed in the Walnut Grove area since.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 267 of Walnut Grove for 55 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Walnut Grove. Warren enjoyed fishing, golf and making wooden toys for the grandchildren.

Warren passed away at his home in Rural Walnut Grove on July 30, 2001 at the age of 78.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; three sons, Bryon of Hutchinson, MN, Boyd and wife Debbie of Farmington, MN and Ricky of Walnut Grove; three grandchildren, Jordon, Jasa and Travis; two sisters Genevieve DeCourcy, Richfield, MN and Lolita Gremmert, Mankato, MN; one brother Cliff and wife Melba Pack, Walnut Grove; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; two sisters.

Clara E. Rasche, 88

Funeral services for Clara E. Rasche, age 88, were held on Mon., Aug. 13, 2001 at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Rev. Roy Williams officiated. Organist was Betty Rupp. Casket bearers were Keith Nelsen, Dale Mischke, Steven Comnick, Russell Gundermann, Steven Gundermann, Bruce Gundermann, Mike Hass and Randal Comnick. Interment was held at the Westbrook Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Westbrook Funeral Home, Westbrook, MN

Clara Estella Rasche was born August 22, 1912 in Rosehill Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota to Louis and Emma (Rachuy) Rasche. She was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook on Sept. 15, 1912 and confirmed on Sept. 16, 1928 also at Grace Lutheran Church. She grew up in the Westbrook area and graduated from high school in 1930. Clara worked for Dr. Flynn and in a bakery for a short while before attending college at St. Cloud, where she received her teaching certificate. Clara taught country school in District 34 for a year and District 68 for two years. She taught in District 13, south of Garvin, until 1945, then she taught fifth grade in Walnut Grove until 1956. She taught fifth and sixth grades in Windom until her retirement in 1976. In 1958 she received her B.S. degree from St. Cloud State University and took additional courses to become a principal. Clara served as Middle School principal in Windom for several years.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the ladies aid, where she was active in its Swing Club. She served as treasurer for many years of the Alpha Alpha Chapter of the International Organization of Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Organization, a member of the Minnesota Historical Society since 1959, a member of the Retired Teachers' Association of Minnesota.

Clara enjoyed collecting owls, angels and sea gulls. She enjoyed reading, especially about Minnesota history. Clara enjoyed traveling, going on tours, taking family and friends out to eat.

Clara will be remembered for the “Bulletin Boards” she would create and for being very generous with gifts to her family.

On August 9, 2001 Clara died at the Windom Hospital at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 17 days.

She is survived by one sister, Lydia Mentjes of Tracy; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews, great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by cousins who watched over her faithfully, and many friends, especially Joe and Barb LaCanne of Windom. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and three sisters, one in infancy.

Grace Weedman, 57

Funeral services for Grace Weedman of Lamberton, were held on Monday, August 13, 2001 at United Methodist Church in Lamberton. Pastor Theodora Hall officiated with Shari Keiper as organist.

Casket bearers were Jack Buysse, Tom Marks, David Bolluyt, Verlane Lang, Robert J. Peterson and Eric Fowler.

Grace was born August 22, 1943 to Verdun and Hazel Hanson in Marshall, MN. She attended public school in Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School. On April 27, 1962 she married Richard Weedman in Amiret, MN. Grace and Richard raised two children, Mark and Kris. In 1964 they moved to Windom and in 1969 made their home in Lamberton.

Grace had worked in the chicken barns, where she picked eggs and was currently employed at Valley View Nursing Home in Lamberton. She enjoyed working with her flowers, riding horses, cooking, camping and craft projects.

Grace is survived by her husband Richard Weedman of Lamberton; son Mark Weedman of Westbrook; daughter Kris and her husband Dean Van Keulen of Amiret, MN; mother Hazel Hanson of Lamberton; two sisters, Jackie and husband Jack Buysse of Valley Springs, SD and Judy and Verlane Lang of Balaton; two brothers, David and wife Debbie Evans of Waterville, MN and Leo and wife Elfrieda Evans of Lake City, MN.

She was preceded in death by her father Verdun Hanson.

Arrangements were handled by the Sturm Funeral Home of Lamberton.
