Rose Gleason, 86

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001 at the Totzke Funeral Chapel in Slayton for Rose Gleason. David Erickson officiated.

Rose Gleason was born on a farm in Skandia Township, Murray County, MN to George and Annie Aleckson Mumby on April 2, 1914. She grew up on the family farm near Balaton, MN, attended country school and graduated from Slayton high school in 1932.

On January 21, 1933, she married Orren Gleason at Dakota City, NE. They lived in Currie, MN, where Orren was in the automotive business. Orren was killed in a car accident in 1971. Rose became a resident of the Slayton Manor in November, 1999.

She passed away at the Murray County Memorial Hospital on January 31, 2001 at the age of 86.

Rose was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Currie, MN, where she had served as church treasurer and a choir member. She was a member of Currie Boosters and Operation Hope, enjoyed traveling in younger years, gardening, cooking and did childcare from 1975-1985.

Survivors include her son Ray (and Arlene), Owatonna; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Larson, Garvin, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son Roger, daughter, Marlys, grandson Jamison Mayberry, granddaughter, Janna Snyder, Owatonna, great-grandson, Andrew Gleason, Owatonna; brothers William and Richard and sister Delores Markwardt.

Interment was at the Slayton Memorial Gardens with the Totzke Funeral Chapel of Slayton handling arrangements.

Randy Gordon, 39

Randy L. Gordon of Glenville, died Friday, January 5, 2001 at his home.

Born January 5, 1962 in Tracy, he was the son of Lowell and Ardell Griffith Gordon. He married Therese Zrelak Nov. 25, 1983 in Albert Lea.

He attended Worthington and Albert Lea schools, graduating from Albert Lea High School. He worked at Streaters for 17 years and two years as a truck driver for American Freightways.

Surviving are his wife, one son, Matthew Gordon, Glenville; on daughter, Samantha Gordon, Glenville; his father, Fairmont; his mother, Worthington; one brother, Terry (Diane) Gordon, Albert Lea; three sisters, Deb (Denny) Roth, Worthington; Brenda (Tom) Henry, Fairmont; and Janelle Majewski, Colo, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Sig and Agnes Gordon and Emma and Luther Griffith.

Gloria Hamilton, 70

Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 1, 2001 for Gloria M. Hamilton at Tracy Lutheran Church. Revs. Marlene Elmstrom and Stephen Olson officiated.

Casket bearers were her children and grandchildren, Glenn Hamilton, Geana Hamilton, Susan Hamilton, Jeremy Cook, Stephanie Hamilton, Joel Cook and Melanie Hamilton.

Gloria M. Hamilton was born August 25, 1930 to Mathew G. and Cora (Lee) Starken in Watertown, South Dakota. She graduated from Tracy High School in 1948. Following graduation she was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone.

On December 20, 1949 she married Gerald Hamilton in Lamberton, Minnesota and continued working for Northwestern Bell, New Jersey Bell and Illinois Bell. She also worked 12 years as a PBX operator for Lafayette National Bank, then 10 years at Pillsbury/Green Giant.

In 1991 she and Gerald moved to Tracy where Gloria was a homemaker. She was involved with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and many church activities. Gloria was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi, Tracy Library Board, treasurer of Wheels Across the Prairie Museum, two garden clubs and Redwood Falls quilting club. Her hobbies included reading, gardening and quilting.

Gloria passed away on January 28, 2001 at the age of 70 years.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald; son, Glenn (Susan) of Eagan, MN; daughter Geana Hamilton of Tracy, MN; four grandchildren, Stephanie and Melanie Hamilton, Jeremy and Joel Hamilton; her mother, Cora; two brothers, Jerome of Oakridge, TN and George of Rockhall, MD; three sisters, Mary Lou Ludeman of Tracy, MN, Nancy Sanderson of Turtle Lake, WI and Sandra Rettmer of Tracy, MN.

She was preceded in death by her father, a niece and a nephew.

Interment was at the Tracy City Cemetery with Almlie Funeral Home handling arrangements.

Louise Dammer Peterson, 89

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, February 2, 2001 at the United Methodist Church in Ocheyedan, IA for Louise Dammer Peterson.

Louise Dammer Peterson, daughter of John and Nancy (Visker) Dilly, was born on January 12, 1912 in Little Rock, IA, where she lived her youth and attended a country school.

She was united in marriage to John Dammer of Little Rock, IA on May 6, 1933 in Sibley, IA. They lived in Ocheyedan, IA. John passed away on December 26, 1968.

She was united in marriage to Leonard Peterson in 1972. They lived in Tracy, MN. Leonard passed away in 1979.

Louise moved back to Ocheyedan, in December of 1993. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Tracy, for 21 years. She transferred her membership to the United Methodist Church of Ocheyedan. She was also a member of the Ocheyedan American Legion Auxiliary and the Tracy V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Louise enjoyed playing cards and bingo, crocheting and making afghans for her grandchildren.

She passed away on Monday, January 29, 2001, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA at the age of 89 years and 7 days.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Jenola and Delmar Bauermeister of Ocheyedan, IA; two sons and daughters-in-law: John and Kay Dammer of Sioux Falls, SD, Roger and Mary Dammer of Blaine, MN; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law Jim and Mary Dilly of Sacramento, CA; two sisters and brother-in-law Frances and Art Martens of George, IA, Dolores Dilly of Salena Beach, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, one son Gary Dammer, four brothers and four sisters.

Interment was at Ocheyedan Township Cemetery, Ocheyedan, IA with Andringa Funeral Home of Ocheyedan handling arrangements.

Robert Raymond

Robert Raymond, formerly of Tracy and Farmington passed away January 24, 2001 at the Odysseg Hospice Care Center.

He is survived by two sisters Florence Phillips of Tracy and Ruth Koch of Elk River, MN. Burial will be at Fort Snelling.
