Thomas Lasnetske, 84

Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, July 8, 2002 for Thomas J. Lasnetske at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tracy. Father Brian Mandel officiated. Organist was Richard Stelter with Carol Cooreman as cantor.

Casket bearers were Brian VanMeveren, Tom Anderson, Don Hanson, Mark VanMeveren, Steve Hansen and Eric Mann.

Honorary casket bearers were Darrel Larsen, Oliver Groff, Richard Hellestad and Gordon Vik.

Thomas John Lasnetske was born on January 25, 1918 to John and Julia (Zurumba) Lasnetske in Tracy, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the St. Mary's Catholic Church and attended Tracy Public Schools.

On November 16, 1940 he married Madalyn Keleher at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tracy. They made their home on a farm near Tracy and later the Milroy, MN area. Except for a brief period when they lived in Minneapolis, he lived his whole life in the Tracy area. Upon returning to the Tracy area Tom began working for the Tri-County Coop, where he was employed as a tire man for 25 years. In 1958 they moved from the farm to a house in Tracy and Tom retired in 1981. In July of 1998 they moved to the house they currently own.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight. He was also Knight of the Year in 1993. Tom enjoyed fishing, playing cards and vegetable gardening and visiting with family and friends.

He entered the Prairie View Healthcare Center the last week of June 2002 where he died on July 4, 2002 at the age of 84.

Tom is survived by his wife, Madalyn; two daughters, Connie (Wayne) Anderson and Karen Engels, both of Tracy, MN; two sons, Lee of Keller, TX and Jim (Dana) of Whitewood, SD; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Pat Greer of St. Paul, MN; one sister, Mary Dressen of Montrose, MN; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His parents, one son, Daniel, three sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.

Interment was in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Tracy, MN with the Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy handling arrangements.

The family requests that memorials be given to the St. Mary's School Endowment Fund or The American Cancer Society.
