30 wrestlers begin practice

The Panther wrestling team began work outs Monday at the Prairie Pavilion.

"We have a good turnout of wrestlers this year," said Panther Coach Travis Christenson. "We also had several good camps this summer. We had LeRoy Vega, a three time All-American from the University of Minnesota, at one of the camps and he was an excellent teacher."

Lost from last year's squad, 4-14 in dual meets, is Erik Kathman who recorded 75 wins as a Panther.

New hoop coach has first practices

The Tracy/Milroy/Balaton boys' basketball team began workouts Monday under first-year head coach Nat Boyer.

"We are not about to predict the number of wins we will get this season," said Boyer. "Our goal is to put the kids in a position to have some successes. Right now we are pointing to our opening game with Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City at Grove City."

Last year's team won only one game.

Girls open Tuesday against Worthington

The Tracy/Milroy/Balaton girls' basketball team continues to prepare for its season opener, Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Worthington.

"We lost the players to graduation who made our inside game work last year," said Panther Coach Paul Soupir. "We are going to have to depend on our back court players and our quickness this year until we can develop some strength inside.”
