Earl Anderson, 84

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 31, 2003 for Earl Anderson at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove, MN.

Earl Arnold Anderson was born February 25, 1919 to Oscar and Ida (Fingarson) Anderson on the family farm in Ann Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota. He was baptized as an infant and later confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. He attended Rural School District #13.

Earl was united in marriage to Gustie Bedwell on June 20, 1954 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. They made their home on the family farm. Earl started farming at age 14, with his father and brother, and later farmed on his own until 1968. He raised livestock with a passion for horses. Upon retirement from farming he went into the auto repair business. Earl was active in the Walnut Grove Lions Club, Lutheran Brotherhood, along with Church and Township Boards. His hobbies included carving, singing, telling jokes, bird watching, watching television, fishing, and most of all spending time with family and friends.

Earl Arnold Anderson passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2003 at North Central Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 84 years,1 month and 2 days.

He is survived by his wife Gustie of rural Revere; three daughters Kari (Duane) Ourada of Westbrook, Lori (George) Erbes of Tracy, Heidi (David) Hansen of Revere; seven grandchildren Tony Ourada (finacee Dawn Goodroad), Melissa Erbes (fiance Mike Ebbing), Andrew (Jackie) Ourada, Mike (Missie) Erbes, Amanda Hansen, Alex Ourada and Tyler Hansen; one brother Arvid (Eunice) Anderson of Lamberton, and eight nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Glenn and one sister Lyla.

Interment was in St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery, Ann Township, Cottonwood County, MN with the Walnut Grove Funeral Home handling arrangements.

Delores Jacobs 86

Delores Jacobs age 86, formerly of Tracy, MN died Saturday, March 29, 2003 at the Victory Lakes Continuing Care Facility in Lindenhurst, IL. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2003 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tracy. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 3 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy. There will be a 4 p.m. Rosary and a 7:30 p.m. Prayer Service on Thursday.

Interment will be at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Tracy. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.

Lydia Moua

Lydia Moua, daughter of Thai Moua and Jenny Xiong, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003 during birth at the Weiner Memorial Medical Center in Marshall, MN. Services were held on Saturday, March 29 at the Almlie Funeral in Tracy. Interment was at the Tracy City Cemetery. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy handled arrangements.

John Waddell, 65

Funeral services were held today, Wed., April 2, 2003 at First Presbyterian Church in Slayton for John “Scotty” Ronald Waddell. Interment was held in St. Ann's Cemetery, Slayton, MN.

Scotty Waddell was born on December 5, 1937 in Falkirk, Scotland to Thomas and Ella Smith Waddell. He grew up in Scotland and attended school there. He served in the British Army from 1961 until 1965 for NATO in Germany.

On June 18, 1960 he married Mary Angela Pearson in Bo'ness, Scotland. In 1968 they came to the United States and settled near Tracy, MN. He worked for Snyder Construction and then Rupp Construction. In the fall of 1971 they moved to their home on an acreage in Murray Township, Murray County, northeast of Slayton and Scotty began his own auto salvage business. Mary died on October 7, 1979.

In January 2003 he became a resident of Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy and it was there he died on March 29, 2003 at the age of 65.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jacelyn and David Sieverding of Currie, MN; his son Craig of Fergus Falls, MN; three grandchildren; one brother, Brian Waddell and one sister, Irene Waddell both of Scotland.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Mary.

The Totzke Funeral Home of Slayton handled the arrangements.
