Harold Gartland, 71

Harold L. Gartland, 71, St. Cloud, a former manager of the Northwestern Bell Telephone office in Tracy, died Dec. 17, 2002 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 20, at the Atonement Lutheran

Church, St. Cloud. Burial was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Little Falls.

Gartland was born on Oct. 25, 1931, to Sievert Lee and Clara Mathilda (Borstad) Gartland. He married Donna L. Fuller on July 26, 1952, in Crosby. He served in the United States Air Force 3700th Medical Group from 1951 to 1955, stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Harold worked in several different positions for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and US West for 30 years, retiring as a cable maintenance foreman.

Survivors include his wife, Donna L. Gartland, of St. Cloud, sons and daughters, Steven (Merlajean) Gartland of Long Lake, Robert (Patti) Gartland of St. Cloud, Howard (Terri) Gartland of Janesville, WI, Lori (Tony) Russell, of St. Cloud, and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Gartland managed the telephone office in Tracy about 30 years ago.
