Donna Gullickson, 73

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 26, 2004 for Donna Mae Gullickson age 73 of Walnut Grove, MN. Services were held at the English Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove with the Walnut Grove Funeral Home handling the arrangements.

Donna was born December 27, 1929 in Tracy, Minnesota to Christ and Ella (Maxium) Bisgaard. She was baptized and confirmed in the Tracy United Methodist Church. She attended school in Tracy. After her schooling, she began working as a nurse in Tracy.

On May 12, 1948 Donna was united in marriage to Darold "Buddy" Gullickson in Tracy. The couple resided in Tracy as Buddy farmed and Donna continued working as a nurse. They moved to the farm west of Walnut Grove for a number of years. Donna then began working for the county cleaning houses for the elderly. She also volunteered for the Hospice program. They lived in Walnut Grove from 1970 until January 4, 2002 when Donna moved into Valley View Manor.

Donna was active in her church circle at English Lutheran Church, and in the ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed walking, playing slot machines at Jackpot Junction and making brownies, drinking coffee, and visiting with her family and friends. Donna was also a big Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed collectibles.

Donna is survived by her husband Darold "Buddy" Gullickson of Walnut Grove, children: Chris Gullickson of Garvin, Clayton (Cheryl) Gullickson of Garvin, Lee "Cookie" (Scott) Parker of Revere, Candy (Bill) Zimmerli of Renville & Lesa (Dwayne) Olson of Northfield; nine grandchildren; great grandson Austin Parker and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one step sister.

Interment was in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.


Sister Tereselle Fihe, 91

Sister Tereselle Fihe, 91, a Franciscan Sister of the Congregation of Our Lady of Lourdes, Rochester, MN who served as an educator, died on July 25, 2004 at Assisi Heights, Rochester.

Born Carolyn Teresa Fihe on January 13, 1913 in Elwood, Indiana. Sister Tereselle entered the Franciscan Congregation in 1937 from St. Joseph Parish. She made profession of vows in 1939 and began her teaching ministry at Immaculate Conception Parish in Watertown, SD. She taught the Social Sciences, Business, English and History in high schools in Minnesota including Lake City, Currie, Iona, Caledonia, Sleepy Eye, Wilmont and Austin. She also taught in Ashland, KY and Portsmouth and Columbus, OH. From 1975-1991 she served as Administrative Secretary at Saint Anne Hospice in Winona. Sister Tereselle retired to Assisi Heights in 1991 and celebrated her diamond jubilee in 1999.

Sister Tereselle is survived by her Franciscan Community.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, July 18, 2004 at the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, Assisi Heights.
