Robert Hatch, 73

Funeral services were held on Monday, August 30, 2004 for Robert Hatch at the Tracy United Methodist Church in Tracy, MN. Rev. Alan Bolte officiated. Organist was Allen Pierson with soloist Carissa Baker.

Robert Duane Hatch was born September 24, 1930 to Ray and Faye Hatch in Tracy, MN, Lyon County. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended Tracy Public Schools, graduating from Tracy High School in 1948. Bob entered the Army National Guard after high school and in 1953 he was activated to full duty during the Korean War. He was given his Honorable discharge in 1954 having reached the rank of Sergeant.

On July 25, 1952 Bob married Erma Kassel at the Tracy United Methodist Church and they made their home in Tracy. Bob was a resident of Tracy his whole life and worked for Tracy Dairy, the City of Tracy, Tracy Bottling Company, as well as, a road construction worker and Tracy Public Schools, as a school bus driver. He was a member of the Tracy United Methodist Church, the Tracy American Legion and a past member of the Tracy Fire Department. Bob enjoyed bowling, hunting and many sports.

On Monday, August 24, 2004 Bob died at his home at the age of 73.

Bob is survived by his wife, Erma of Tracy, MN; two daughters, Jolene (Jim) Ott of Urbandale, IA and Mari Jo (Paul) Johnson of Brookings, SD; one son, Duane (Denise) Hatch of Becker, MN; five grandchildren, Brad and Marc Ott, Justin Johnson, Jessica Shaw and Heather Stanaway; one brother, Dale (Maureen) Hatch of Tracy, MN; two nieces and one nephew.

His parents preceded him in death.

Interment was held on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, St. Paul, MN.

The family requests that memorials be given to the Alhzeimer's Association or the Tracy Fire Department.

Arrangements were handled by the Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy, MN.


Kent Starr, 84

Comfort Kent Starr, son of Charles E. and Mamie Starr, was born in Tracy, Minnesota on May 2, 1920 and passed away on August 23, 2004 in Sierra Vista, Arizona where he and his wife, Florence, had lived for many years.

Kent graduated from Tracy High School in 1938 and attended the University of Minnesota from 1938 to 1941. He enlisted in the Army Signal Corps Aug 8, 1941 and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland. During World War ll he was stationed in the Aleutian Islands from 1942 to 1944 when he reenlisted in the Signal Corps until August 31, 1975 retiring as a Colonel. During those years he was stationed in Japan, Austria, Korea, Germany, Vietnam, and Turkey as well as some posts in the United States.

On May 5, 1961 Kent married Florence Belle White in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. His survivors include Florence, son William, several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his half brother, Merrill Starr, his sister, Agnes Starr Feth, his brother, Edson Starr, and his nephews, Charles Edson Starr and Lawrence McLeod.

Military services have been held.


Lois Pamp, 82

Funeral services will be held for Lois Pamp, 82 of West Fargo, ND at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2004 at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo. Visitation will from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1 in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN and one hour before services in the church. There will also be a funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday, September 3 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy with a visitation one hour before services.

Lois Evans Pamp was born on August 8, 2004, to Roger and Lola (Mottinger) Evans in Garvin, MN. She graduated from Tracy High School in 1941. Lois married Robert Pamp on January 1, 1944, in Tracy, MN.

Lois managed Stevenson's Fashion Shop in La Cross, WI and Minneapolis, MN. They moved to Fargo in 1965 and she worked for Buttrey and Lowes's Fashion Shop as a clothes buyer. She retired in 1988, and later worked for several years as a volunteer at Dakota Hospital.

Lois died on Sunday, August 29, 2004, in Innovis Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Lois is survived by her husband, Bob; a sister, Dorthey (Bill) Pamp, Tracy, MN; two nephews Charles (Kathy) and Douglas (Melanie) Pamp, Garvin, MN; one niece, Dianna, North Carolina; and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Betty Dahl of Carefree, AZ, and one niece, Connie Lee.

Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery, Garvin, MN.
