Rose Besondy, 92

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 2, 2004 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy, MN for Rose Marie Besondy. Rev. Alan Bolte officiated.

Casket bearers were Conrad Rettmer, Dan Robinson, Debra Robinson, Carol Schjei, Art Rogers, Kathy O'Gorman, Matt Schmitt and Jay Chirhart.

Rose Marie Besondy was born February 22, 1911 to Luther and Minnie (Soper) Hartinger in Emmetsburg, IA. At the age of twelve she moved with her family to Bancroft, IA and she attended Bancroft Public Schools.

On May 14, 1928 Rose married James Robinson in Bancroft, IA. They made their home there until her husband's death when Rose moved to Welcome, MN. In the early 1970's Rose moved to Tracy, MN and in February of 2002 she became a resident of the Tracy Nursing Home.

Rose worked for Koenig's Variety Store in Fairmont, MN for many years as a salesclerk. She was a member of the Tracy United Methodist Church in Tracy and enjoyed painting and ceramics.

On Friday, January 30, 2004 Rose died at the Alvera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 92.

Rose is survived by one daughter-in-law, Marge Robinson of Tracy, MN; one granddaughter, Debra (Matt Schmitt) Robinson of St. Paul, MN; one grandson, Dan (Kathy O'Gorman) Robinson of Lakeland, MN; one step-granddaughter, Carol (Jay Chirhart) Schjei of Arden Hills, MN; one great-granddaughter, Jennifer Ferrante; two great-grandsons, Isaac and Michael Robinson; nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, one son, Francis, one grandson, Douglas; five brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.

Interment was in the Tracy City Cemetery with the Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy handling the arrangements.

Jordan Rory Judkins, infant son of John and Jodie Judkins of Tracy, MN died Thursday, January 29, 2004 at the Worthington Regional Hospital in Worthington, MN. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the Tracy Alliance Church. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2004 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy. Interment will be at the Tracy City Cemetery. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.

Jordan R. Judkins was born Thursday, January 29, 2004 at 10:45 p.m. in Worthington, MN to John and Jodi Judkins of Tracy, MN. while his time with us was short, he will always be remembered as a precious, perfect little boy. May God be with him and watch over him until we can be with him again.

Jordan is survived by his parents, John and Jodie Judkins of Tracy, MN; three brothers, Dan, Brian and Garrett; two sisters, Amanda and Kelsie; grandparents Judy Janssen and Betty Judkins; extended family, Gary and Rosemary Janssen, Fannie Janssen and Cecil Reyerson; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

His grandfather, Wesley Judkins, his uncle, Rory Janssen, and his great-grandparents preceded him in death.

Rose Marie Landa, 58

Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tracy, MN for Rose Marie Landa. Visitation will be held Wednesday at the church from 4-8 p.m. with a 4 p.m. rosary and 7:30 p.m. prayer service. Burial will be held at a later date in Lowry, MN. Tracy Area Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Rose Marie Landa was born April 7, 1945 to Thomas O. and Svea (Bjorklund) Stavem in Starbuck, MN. She grew up in Lowry, MN and then Glenwood, graduating from Glenwood High School in 1963. She briefly attended South Dakkota State University in Brookings, SD.

Rose was united in marriage to Allen Landa in Glenwood. They settled in Tracy in 1966. She attended Alexandria Tech for legal secretary, and worked in a Morris attorney's office for one year. She moved back to Tracy and worked various jobs including day care and secretarial work at the Tracy Nursing Home.

Artwork was her love. She painted murals in peoples homes

and did vaarious paintings. She took an adventure to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, returning to Tracy in 1998. Rose battled various illnesses since that time. She befriended many strangers, loved all farm animals, horses and had many pets, including birds, cats and dogs. Her home looked like a "greenhouse" and she was sometimes referred to as the "plant lady".

Rose was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and CCW.

Rose Marie Landa passed away February 2, 2004 at Weiner Memorial Hospital in Marshall, MN at the age of 58 years, 9 months and 25 days.

She is survived by her two sons: Todd and wife Jean Landa of Tracy and Wade Landa and fiance Caryn Hetland of Marshall; grandchildren Svea Rose Landa, Landyn and Avery VanOverbeke and Mike and Jenny Uecker; one sister Carol and husband Pete Serrin of Glenwood.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers James, Lawrence and John.

Patricia Peterson, 77

of Walnut Grove, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at Valley View Manor, Lamberton.

Born Feb. 27, 1926, in Walnut Grove, she was the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy Fischer Corcoran. She married Neil Peterson in 1950 in Walnut Grove. He died in 1988.

She graduated from Walnut Grove Public School in 1944. After marriage, they lived in Walnut Grove and ran the family grocery and produce business. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator from 1960 to 1970. She was a reporter and photographer for the Westbrook/Walnut Grove Tribune for many years. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Community Club, school board, VFW and Legion Auxiliary, and St. Paul's CCU. She was an officer on the Wilder Museum Committee.

Surviving are three daughters, Debra (Greg) Warner, Walnut Grove, Sara Peterson, Marina Del Rey, Calif., and Nora (Dennis) Feldt, Fairfax, Va.; one stepchild, Norma Jean (Milford) Langehough, Bloomington; one brother, Joseph (Ike) Corcoran, Fontana, Calif.; one half-brother, Lyle (Leona) Porter, Tracy; one grandchild; and numerous step-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, at Walnut Grove Funeral Home, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Walnut Grove.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Walnut Grove. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Lester Ravers, 93

Lester G. Ravers, age 93, formerly of Tracy, MN area died Sunday, December 31, 2004 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis, MN. Services will be held this spring. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.

Gilbert Snyder, 65

Gilbert “Gib” Snyder was born January 27, 1938 on a farm east of Marshall to Gordon and Alice (Marks) Snyder. He attended Milroy School and obtained his GED in 1965.

Gib died on December 18, 2003 at his home in New Mexico.

He is survived by his wife Sharon; daughters Denise (David) Vanderlinden, Delaine (Bob) Vanderlinden; son Mark (Karen) Snyder; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Bruce (Joyce) of Alexandria, MN, Ken (Darlene) of Everett, WA, Jim (Shirley), Marshall, MN; three sisters, Janet (Ray) Randall, Tracy, MN, Ruth (Gerry) Snyder, of Currie, MN, Ginger (Rich) Pautsch of Gaylord, MN; two uncles Warren (Dorothy) Snyder and Cecil both of Marshall; one aunt, Mil Saxton of Garvin; many nieces, nephews who loved him dearly.
