Anna Verly, 87

Mass of Christian burial for Anna M. Verly, 87, of Minneota, were held on Monday, March 28, 2005, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Interment was at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall.

Anna Marie Doom was born on October 12, 1917, in Fairview Township, Lyon County, to Camille and Alixa (Lemahieu) Doom. In 1923, she moved with her parents to Belgium for approximately one year, then returned to the Marshall area.

On September 16, 1941, she was united in marriage to Albert C. Verly at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She farmed with Albert and the couple raised their family in the Marshall area. Anna enjoyed camping, sewing, baking bread, playing cards, reading, gardening and visiting with family and friends. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and Ladies’ Guild.

Anna died on Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at the Minneota Manor.

She is survived by her children, Roger (Shirley) Verly of Marshall; Bernice (Nicholas) Reuter of St. Cloud; Shirley (Denny) Timmerman of Boyd; Charlene (Dennis) Popowski of Garner, IA; Fran (Sharon) Verly of Marshall; Rose (Lynn) Goltz of Tracy; Pat (Gary) Timmerman of Green Valley; Therese DeBaere of Ghent; Elaine (Doug) Sietesma of Watertown, SD; Lou (Gary) Wischer of Marshall; Cathy Verly of Litchfield; daughters-in-law Carol (John) Carlson and Barb (Clayton) Minnehan; 47 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brothers Ed (Leona) Doom and Ray (Harriett) Doom all of Cottonwood; sisters-in-law Marie Doom of Minneota, Mary E. Doom of Marshall, Annie Verly of Marshall; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert, sons Joe, Chuck, Leroy and Denny; grandchildren Jason Timmerman and Shawn DeBaere; great-grandchildren Dylan Bailey and Isaiah King; brothers Gerard (infant) Hector (infant) Oscar and Michael Doom, sisters Julia Doom (infant) Marie and Bertha Girard.
