Lazetta (Draayom) Brose, 91

A 1933 Tracy High School graduate has died in St. Petersburg, Florida at the age of 91.
Lazetta Brose, died March 24, at the Westminister Suncoast Manor Nursing Center.

Born in Hospers, Iowa on April 16.1913 to Bertus Draayom and Nettie Maus she and her family moved to a farm in Tracy. . She moved to Chicago in 1935 and married her Horace Benjamin Brose in Chicago, on April 15,1941. Mr. Brose preceded her in death on Sept 21,1981.
She wsas graduated from Beauty Culture School in Chicago on June 8,1939 and worked as a stylist at Saks Fifth Avenue for several years and at Thomas Hair and Scalp Co. Lazetta and her husband founded the company, Heide Babe Products, named after her first born, manufacturing innovative baby care products. Lazetta and Horace moved to Tampa, FL in 1950, invented, manufactured and sold many products, acquiring 12 patents. They moved to Palm Harbor, Fl in 1978 and Lazetta moved to St. Petersburg in 2001.

Lazetta was a past member of The Pastels choral group, composed and copywrited 26 songs, played the organ, piano and guitar beautifully. She was an avid gardener, seamstress, decorator, and superb homemaker. A member of the Christian Science Church, she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.

Her siblings Bert Draayom, Gerrit Draayom, Paul Draayom, Philip Draayom Bertha L. Draayom, and Annetta Draayom preceded Lazetta in death.
She is survived by daughters Heide Brose Carlini of Barrington, IL and Penny Brose Flaherty of St. Petersburg, FL, and grandson Todd Ryland Kemp of Carol Stream, IL She was blessed to have, through Penny’s marriage, granddaughters Susan Flaherty of New York, NY, Kathy Flaherty of Miami, FL, Lisa Flaherty of St. Petersburg, FL and great-grandsons Michael Flaherty and Casimir Gaul-Berrard. Lazetta is also survived by her sister Grace Margaret Deem of Tracy, , sister-in-law Bertha Draayom of La Verne, CA, and many nieces and nephews..727-3213321
