Golfers take first swings of season

The Panther boys’ and girls’ golf teams started working out on Monday for the upcoming season. Both teams finished in sixth place in the sub-section meet last year with the boys’ Eric Peterson being the lone qualifier for the Section meet. The boys lost Peterson and Nick Miller to graduation but the girls’ team returns intact.

Golfers who turned out for Monday’s practice included: Cassie Bryant, Mark Buysse, Scott Debbout, Jenna Fischer, Nicole Hansen, Sam Lau, Kimberly Lau, Kayla Lau, Kyle McIntire, Casie Miller, Ted Nilius, David Schiller and Anthony Vroman,

Austin Butman, Jordan Christiansen, Tyler Christiansen, Chad Cooreman, Derek Evans, Tylor Hansen, Jacob Hoflock, Lonnie Lambertus, Michael Lenertz, Josh Michael, Jesse Miller, David Nilius, Austin Orren, Luke Prairie, Will Rolling, Caleb Schmidt and Matt Smith.

The Panthers are scheduled to host Red Rock Central April 1.


Panther softball hopes to defend 212 crown

The Panther girls’ softball team began working out on Monday.
The defending 212 Conference Champions have lost Megan Anderson, Steph Kaup, Kasey Loeslie and Steph Hebig to graduation.

Working out were Stacy LaVoy, Lynn Brockway, Jackie Coulter, Alyssa Kirk, Alissa Lightfoot, Brittany Maeyaert, Andrea Van Moer, Jackie Vroman, Rachel Gervais, Lisa Bauer, Ann Marie Byrne, Brittanie Carlson, Lindsey Daniels, Mallory Fultz, Jackie Haecherl, Ashley Kirk, Bailey Lackie, Cassie Miller, Elizabeth Rayman, Becki Towne and Rebekah Zens,

Melissa Clapp, Andria Dolan, Haley Hebig, Kayl Lanners, Shea Lanoue, Brittany Larson and Michelle Lenertz.

The Panthers’ first scheduled game is at Marshall on Tuesday, April 5. The first home game is slated against Minneota, Thursday, April 14.


Tracksters begin conditioning

The Panther boys’ and girls’ track teams began conditioning drills on Monday.
