Josh Lubben sets archery record

A Tracy eighth grader has set a Minnesota State Archery Association record.

Josh Lubben set the new youth male bow hunter class record at a state target shoot in Hibbing. His 1,659 score shattered the previous record by 70 points.

“It was pretty fun,” said Josh, who will turn 14 in September. He said he has been practicing archery since he was in “first grade or kindergarten.”

About 110 archers from Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, and Canada competed in the state target shoot. Lubben will compete in a state target shoot hosted at the Saratoga Archery Club near Amiret this weekend.

He is the son of Keith and Val Lubben of Tracy.
