TMB boys prepare for Dec. 3 opener

The Panther boy’s basketball team has started two-a-day workouts as they prepare for the opening game of the 2005-06 season on Saturday, Dec. 3 at Slayton against Murray County Central.

The boys will play five away games before hosting Jackson County Central at Tracy on Tuesday, Dec. 20. In addition to MCC, the Panthers will be at Ellsworth Tuesday, Dec. 13 and will then play three games against their former 212 Conference rivals. The Panthers will be at Granite Falls on Thursday, Dec. 15, at Prinsburg on Friday, Dec. 16 and at Granite Falls on Saturday, Dec. 17.


Nine lettermen to return for BB boys

The Panther wrestling team held its first workout of the season on Monday at the Veterans’ Memorial Center in Downtown Tracy under coaches Brian Michelson and Karl Campbell.

Candidates for this year’s Panther wrestling squad are Cody Arnold, Paul Carlson, Chad Cooreman, Cole Cooreman, Dan Deiter, Derek Evans, Meng Her, Nhia Her, Nathan Jacob, Andrew Lackie, Kyle Lanners, Dan Malmberg, Andy Nelson, James Prairie, Jordan Rolling, Chia Thao, Chue Vang, Tyler Bauer, Arturo Bautista, Zach Campbell, Erik Cooreman, Andrew Deiter, Colton Evans, Cheepheng Her, Daniel Mata, Sher Moua, Koulee Noukhay, Cody Schons, Jared Towne, Jack Vue, Matthew Wakefield and Ger Vang.

The Panther squad has set the following goals for the season: 1) To achieve 18 wins or more as a team; 2) Compete for the section championship; 3) As a team, place at the following tourneys- 1st at Maple River, 2nd or better at Montevideo, 2nd or better at the “Dam Site”, 2nd or better at the conference tournament and 2nd or better at the Plum Creek Tournament.

The Panthers will open their season at a quadrangular to be held in Clara City on Tuesday, December 6. Other teams competing in the quad will be MACCRAY, Benson and Renville County West.
