Ronald B. Strom, 92

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 9, 2006 at Tracy United Methodist Church for Ronald B. Strom. Pastor Kaye Brandt officiated. Allen Pierson was the organist.

Casket bearers were Robert Hyatt Jr., Travis Hyatt, Jamie Hyatt, Kyle Hyatt, Eric Strom, Craig Ranschau, Bert Strom, Gail Strom, Brian Kor, Jayson Strom, Jesse Strom, Darrel Strom, Larry Strom, Jr., and Patrick Strom.

Ronald Bert Strom was born May 31, 1913 to Burton and Emma (Gnadt) Strom on a farm northwest of Iona, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended country school near his family farm.

On June 29, 1942 Ronald married Ruth Munsinger at the Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson, MN. They made their home on a farm north of Balaton, MN. After his retirement from farming Ronald remained on the farm until shortly before his death.

Ronald enjoyed attending auctions and sales throughout southwestern Minnesota. He also enjoyed listening to music, especially polka music, but what he really loved was spending time with his family and getting together with as many as possible at reunions.

As his health failed Ronald entered the Marshall Weiner Memorial Medical Center two weeks ago and from there he went to live at the Prairie Home Hospice House in Marshall just after the first of the year. He died Thursday, January 5, 2006 at the age of 92.

Ronald is survived by his one daughter, Geraldine (Robert) Hyatt of Wood Lake, MN; four sons, Ronald Jr. (Lorraine) of Lynd, MN, Keith (Sally) of Garvin, MN, Howard of Balaton, MN and Larry (Patricia) of Tracy, MN; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Coleman of Pomona, CA and Viola Beiersdorf of Eden Prairie, MN; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His parents, wife, Ruth, one grandson, Todd and three brothers, Wilbur, John and Floyd preceded him in death.

Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery, Balaton, MN with the Almlie Funeral Home of Balaton handling the arrangments.
