Dorothy Schons, 78

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, July 8, 2006 for Dorothy Schons at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy. Father Brian Mandel officiated. Carol Cooreman was cantor with Shannon Benson as organist.

Casket bearers were Al Breczinski, Dave Kosse, Luke Schons, Dan Wagner, Jesse Zens and Jon Wagner.

Honorary casket bearers were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Mae Schons was born January 19, 1928 to Cecil and Lillian (Randolph) Veroeven on the family farm North Hero Township, Redwood County, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Walnut Grove, MN. She attended Hilltop Country School District #42 and later Walnut Grove Public Schools, graduating from Walnut Grove High School in 1946. As a young woman she worked for many neighbors cooking and cleaning.

On June 7, 1949 Dorothy married Cletus John Schons at St. Paul’s Catholic Church and they made their home on a farm near Tracy, MN. Dorothy and her husband moved their family into Tracy in 1956. She began working at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and School serving as a cook and in other positions for almost 30 years. The New Ulm Diocese bestowed on her the Bishop’s Medal of Service in 1999.

Dorothy was a past member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and a current member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy where she was active in the St. Theresa Guild and Catholic Church Women’s Group. She had a love of religion, a boundless faith and felt truly blessed with her family. She enjoyed the outdoors, birds, her flower garden, watching old westerns and was an avid Vikings and Twins fan. Dorothy liked baking pies and sharing whatever she had with family and friends, but what she really loved was time spent at the lake with her family.

After spending most of her life in her home in Tracy Dorothy entered the Tracy Area Hospital in late June of 2006 where she died Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the age of 78.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Linda Wagner of Lakefield, MN and Rose (Jeff) Zens of Currie, MN; three sons, Tony (Barb) Schons of Storm Lake, IA, Cletus (Chris) Schons and Keith (Jeri) Schons both of Tracy, MN; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her parents, husband, Cletus, son-in-law, David Wagner, two brothers, Donald and Robert and one sister, Kathryn Weinzetl preceded her in death.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Tracy, MN with the Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy handling the arrangements.


Donna Pugliese, 42

Donna Mae (Becken) Pugliese was born November 11, 1963 in Greenbush, MN. She attended school in Greenbush and was graduated from high school in Hallock, MN. She graduated from Northwestern Bible College in St. Paul, MN with a degree in Social Work. She was a professional caregiver in the Twin Cities as well as Marshall/Tracy area most of her life. She moved to Phoenix, AZ in 2000 for employment. She worked as a ministerial secretary for the Assembly of God Church in Scottsdale until her illness.

There she met and married Charlie Pugliese on October 22, 2002.

Donna’s long battle with cancer ended July 4, 2006.

Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Vi Becken, who passed on May 3, 2006.

Survivors include her husband Charlie (Scottsdale, AZ), her father Donald Becken (Hallock, MN) sister Ade (Jim) Miller (Tracy, MN) brother Allen (Roxanne) Becken (Owatonna, MN) along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held for Donna at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hallock, MN.


Robert Shoeman, 58

Robert David Shoeman, age 58, passed away suddenly June 29, 2006 in San Bernadino, CA of cardiac arrest.

Born April 19, 1948 to Leo and Thelma Shoeman of Tracy, MN, Robert graduated from Tracy High School in 1966; and served in the US Army from 1966-1968 and Active Reserve until 1975.

Survived by three children: Chad Shoeman, Greely, CO, Jason Shoeman and Douglas Shoeman both of Aurora, CO; four sisters Mary Lou and Marlin Kukas, Brooklyn Center, MN, Shirley and Gary Siegrist, Minneapolis, MN, Lois and Don Reynolds, Charlotte, NC and brother Russell and Joyce Shoeman, Chugiak, Alaska.

There will be a private family service in Tracy, MN.


Patricia Kircher, 80

A Service of Remembrance will be held for Patricia Lee Kircher, age 80, at the Church of Christ in Lamberton, MN on Friday, July 14, 2006 at 7 p.m.

Patricia Lee Kircher, age 80 of San Antonio, TX, formerly of Lamberton, died June 16, 2006, in San Antonio, TX at the age of 80.

Friends may call on the family one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Pastor Homer Dobson officiating.

Patricia Lee Kircher was born June 10, 1926, in Bellingham, WA, the daughter of Cleo and Lillian (Kandell) Patterson. Following her schooling, she worked in the shipyards and was united in marriage to Elroy Kircher on September 2, 1945, in Washington. The couple moved to Lamberton in 1946, and to Apache Junction in 1983. After Elroy’s death in 1998, Patricia moved back to Lamberton and then to San Antonio in 2004.

Survivors include children- Karen Kircher of Lamberton, Kevin Kircher of Lamberton, Craig Kircher of San Antonio, TX, and Robyn and husband John Johnson of Tracy; grandchildren- Matthew, Jessica, Krista, Emmy, Stacie, Jill, Jared and Kenny; and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband- Elroy; and a sister in infancy.
