Adella I. Martinson, 87

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 27, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. for Adella I. Martinson, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lamberton with burial at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 26 from 4-8 p.m. at Sturm Funeral Home in Lamberton, and will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. A parish Prayer Service is at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Funeral Home. Father Dennis Labat will officiate.

Adella Irene Martinson was born December 22, 1918, in Garvin, MN, the daughter of Roy and Millie (Rife) Williamson. She graduated from Tracy High School, then moved to St. Paul to work.

Adella was united in marriage to Vernon Martinson on February 22, 1941, at St. Columbia Catholic Church in St. Paul. They lived in Tracy until moving to the farm near Lamberton in 1948. Adella and Vernon taught square-dancing to many students in Lamberton. Gardening, baking bread, raising flowers and fishing were Adella’s passions. “You knew you were a friend when you received a loaf of bread from Adella.”

Adella Irene Martinson died Monday, January 23, 2006, at the Springfield Medical Center at the age of 87 years.

Survivors include children- DiAnne (Curt) Ramsbacher of San Antonio, TX, William Martinson of Lamberton, James (Diane) Martinson of San Antonio, Robert (Paula) Martinson of Gainesville, TX, Chuck (Sharyn) Martinson of Lamberton, and Rick (Sally) Martinson of Rockford, MN; 20 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband- Vernon in July of 2005; brother- Robert; and sister- Wilma Zimmermann.
