Lois (Sweely) Rodriques, 80

Lois Rodriques passed away on September 10, 2006 in Salem, Ore.

Lois is survived by her daughter and son-in -law, Sharon L. and Vern Rice of Salem Ore; sons Bruce W. Johnson of Minneapolis, Minn. Terry L. Johnson of Stacy, Minn.; and daughter Taunya L. Johnson of Minneapolis, Minn.; brothers and sister - in -law Alan and Lena Mae Sweely of Roseburg, Ore.; and Louis and Phyllis Sweely of Salem, Ore.; brother, Dale Sweely of Aurora, Ore.; grandchildren, Christina Brooks, Kathy Winn, Clifford, and Rachel; Fred, Jerry, and David Lee Johnson; nephew, Larry Sweely; and niece Frona Grey.

Bernice Bergman, 86

Bernice J. Bergman age 86 of Milroy, MN died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy, MN. Services will be 10:00 a.m. (today) Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at the St. Michaels Catholic Church in Milroy.

Bernice Julette Bergman was born April 20, 1920 to George and Anna (Reigner) Trembley on a farm near Currie, MN, Murray County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and as a child, Bernice moved with her family to Slayton, MN where she attended Slayton Public Schools. As a young woman she went to work as a waitress at a local cafe, meeting Melvin, her husband, while working there.

On February 3, 1940 Bernice married Melvin Bergman at St. Anne’s Parsonage in Slayton. They made their home on a farm near Avoca, MN until 1944 when they bought and moved to a farm near Vesta, MN. In 1971, they retired and moved into Milroy, MN where they lived until Melvin’s death in 2003.

Bernice was a member of the St. Michaels Catholic Church in Milroy and was active in the community over the years as part of the Senior Citizens of Milroy, 4-H Club, County Extension, Milroy American Legion Auxiliary and sewing club. Her interests included knitting, playing cards with family and friends, and many crafts.

After her husband’s death Bernice remained in her home in Milroy until June of 2004 when she became a resident of the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy, MN where she died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at the age of 86.

Bernice is survived by her two daughters, Ramona (Mike) Sauter of Dacula, GA and Cheryl (Jeff) Larson of Brooklyn Park, MN; seven grandchildren, Brian, Jay and Erin Sauter, Lisa and Mark Jemming, Pat Pape and Trudy Nephew; 11 great grandchildren; twin sister, Beulah Reed of Slayton, MN; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her parents, husband, Melvin, daughter, Thresa Jemming, five sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.

Interment will be at the Milroy Community Cemetery in Milroy. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.

Lorraine Meyer, 85

Lorraine Meyer age 85 of Tracy, MN died Monday, October 2, 2006 at the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2006 at the Tracy Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2006 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Interment will be at the Tracy City Cemetery. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.
