Robert Danielowski, Sr., 74

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2006 in Granite Falls Lutheran Church in Granite Falls, for Robert Danielowski Sr. The Sunset Funeral and Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso handled arrangements.

Robert August Danielowski was born Wednesday, August 19, 1931 near Lucan, Minnesota to Robert Frederick and Elizabeth (Henkle) Danielowski. He grew up on a farm near Lucan until moving into Lucan with his family in 1943. Bob attended Wabasso Public School graduating from Wabasso High School in 1949.

On November 13, 1949 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Froelich in Vesta. They lived in Marshall and he entered the U. S. Air Force in 1952 serving in Korea and Japan. After his discharge from service he returned to Marshall. Bob and Marilyn moved to Balaton in 1960 where they farmed and owned and operated the Pla-Eatorium Café and Bob’s Grocery. In 1976 he joined Wilson Meats as a salesman and they relocated to Sheridan, Wyoming and then transferred to Billings, Montana in 1978. Bob and Marilyn moved to Granite Falls in 1980 where he opened Bob’s Refrigeration and Montgomery Wards Catalog store. He semi-retired in 1995. Marilyn died on December 15, 2005 and Bob continued to live in Granite Falls.

He served on the Balaton City Council from 1965 until 1976 and served on the Granite Falls Municipal Hospital Board of Directors – Finance Committee for a long time. He was a member of Granite Falls Lutheran Church, the Elks Club and American Legion in Granite Falls. Family was first and foremost in Bob’s life, wife Marilyn, kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He also enjoyed camping and fishing.

Robert A. Danielowski died on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 in Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 19 days.

He is survived by five children; Bob Danielowski Jr. and wife Kris of Granite Falls, Ken Danielowski and wife Lorette of Myerstown, PA, Pam Peyton and husband Randy of Granite Falls, Patti Pribbenow and husband Jim of Minneapolis, and Peggi Peterson and husband Tony of Tracy and George. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two sisters; Betty Johnson of Canby and Leona Hobson of Cushing, MN and a sister-in-law Caroline Danielowski of Revere.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marilyn, an infant son, two grandchildren; Nathan and Justin Peterson, four brothers; Ervin Danielowski, Clarence Danielowski, Harold Danielowski and Lyle Larson and a sister Verlie Solseth.


Grace Osland, 87

Funeral services for Grace Osland, age 87 of Windom and formerly of rural Lamberton, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2006 at Highwater Lutheran Church in rural Lamberton. Rev. Michael Stangeland will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the LaCanne Family Funeral Home in Windom and on Friday for one hour prior to services at the church in rural Lamberton.

Grace passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2006 at the Sogge Good Samaritan Center in Windom.
