Milroy Legion in consolation bracket, will face Springfield Friday night

On Monday the Milroy Legion baseball team lost to MACCRAY at Milroy 5-2 Taylor Rignell started on the mound and pitched 4 innings giving up 4 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits while striking out 3 and walking 1. Derek Radke pitched the last 3 innings giving up 1 run on 1 hit while striking out 1 and walking 1.

David Schmidt led the 5 hit Milroy attack with a pair of singles.

Milroy will play host to the consolation bracket of the sub-district Friday and will meet Springfield at 6:00 p.m. with Lamberton meeting St James afterwards.


VFW in Alex tournament

The Tracy VFW baseball team won over Westbrook last Thursday and then lost 2 games and won 1 at the Alexandria Tournament over the weekend. They lost to Wood Lake and Oceola before winning over Alexandria by a score of 10-8. No more information was available to the Headlight Herald.


Tracy to host hoops tournament

The TMB boys’ basketball teams are bringing summer basketball back to town this weekend with the ‘Run-n-Fun’ Tournaments. All games will be held at Veteran’s Memorial Center downtown Tracy.

On Saturday the Varsity will host teams from Marshall, Redwood Valley, Jackson County Central, RTR, Ellsworth, KMS and RCW. Action is slated to begin with games starting at 10 a.m.

On Sunday the B-squad and C-squad will host teams from Marshall, RTR, Ellsworth, KMS and Redwood Valley with games starting at 10 a.m.

Admission for each day is $4 for adults, $3 for kids and free admission for children under age 5. Concessions will be available.


Summer integration program begins at Tracy Elementary next week

The Summer Integration Program is starting this week. The program is open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade, and is being held at Tracy Elementary School. Students who attend should enter the school near the music room.

The first sessions were held Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. The next session will be held on Thursday, July 13 from 1-4 p.m.

The second week will be held on Tuesday, July 18, Wednesday, July 19, and Thursday, July 20 from 1-4 p.m. The program will continue on Tuesday, July 25, Wednesday, July 26, and Thursday, July 27 from 1-4 p.m.
