Robert Coyle age 75 of Tracy, MN died at his home on Monday, May 7, 2007.
Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2007 at the Tracy Missionary
Alliance Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday,
May 9, 2007 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy, with a prayer service
at 7:30 p.m. and continuing one hour prior to the service at the church
on Thursday. Interment will be at the Tracy City Cemetery. The Almlie
Funeral Home in Tracy is handling the arrangements.
Robert Dale Coyle was born September 8, 1931 to Harold and Ethel (Anderson)
Coyle in Tracy, MN, Lyon County. He was baptized on December 29, 1931
and later confirmed in the Christian faith. Robert grew up on a farm near
Garvin, MN and moved into Garvin with his family where he attended Garvin
Public Schools and then later Graduating from Tracy High School.
As a young man Robert worked construction, helping to build Minnesota
State Highway 59 and also Lake Sarah Lutheran Church in Garvin. He enlisted
in the U. S. Army in 1950 and served in Korea during the Korean War. He
was honorably discharged in 1953 and returned to the Tracy area. In 1973
Robert entered the Minnesota National Guard in Tracy and served another
eighteen years before his honorable discharge in 1991.
On May 18, 1957 Robert married JoAnne Kathman at the Lutheran Church in
Dayton, OH where they made their home for a short time. They moved to
Charlotte, NC and then to Slayton, MN in 1959. In 1963 they moved back
to Garvin and then into Tracy in 1970. Over the years Robert worked for
the Garvin Creamery, Good Year Tire in Charlotte, Deming Plumbing &
Heating in Tracy and the Tracy Municipal Hospital.
Robert was a member of the Tracy Missionary Alliance Church, past member
of the Garvin Congregational Church, and the Tracy American Legion, serving
as Commander and Treasurer. He enjoyed horseshoe, fishing, Bingo, card
games and woodworking, making many bird houses and lawn ornaments for
family and friends. Robert was also an avid reader, and sports enthusiast,
attending many of his children’s events over the years. He will
be lovingly remembered by his family and friends as a man with a great
sense of humor and always ready with a joke or tease.
In the fall of 2004 Robert became a resident of the O’Brien Court
apartments in Tracy, where he died Monday, May 7, 2007 at the age of 75.
Robert is survived by his four sons, David (Pam) Coyle of St. Rose, LA,
Ronald Coyle of Tracy, MN, James (Terri) Coyle of Rochester, MN and Michael
(Amy) Coyle of Tracy, MN; five daughters, Tamora (Ray) Hatton of Tracy,
MN, Sandra (Fran) Carlson of Garvin, MN, Ronda (Roy) Radke of Slayton,
MN, Dawn (Bob) Anderson of Lucan, MN and Kimberly (Dan) Rolling of Tracy,
MN; twenty four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Isabel
Salmons of Ojai, CA; one brother, Glen (Barb) Coyle of Duluth, MN; many
nieces, nephews and cousins.
His wife, JoAnne, one son, William “Bill”, infant grandson,
Jeremy Hatton, two brothers, Morris and George “Don” and one
sister, Betty preceded him in death.
Genevieve Derrick, 97
Genevieve Derrick age 97, formerly of Tracy, MN died February 16, 2007
in Mesa, AZ. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12,
2007 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy. Visitation will be one hour
prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Tracy
City Cemetery. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.
Genevieve Derrick was born February 3, 1910 to Dr. Don and Vera Casselman
in Tracy, MN. Genevieve was baptized into the Presbyterian faith and attended
Tracy Public Schools where she graduated from Tracy High School. After
high school, she graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree
in physical education. She then taught school in Duluth, MN for a number
In 1935, Genevieve married Dr. Robert Derrick and together they made their
home in Tracy where Dr. Derrick practiced dentistry for 41 years in the
Masonic Temple building until his retirement. Genevieve worked with her
husband in the office for the last six years until her retirement. After
their retirement, they moved to Mesa, Arizona where they made their home.
Genevieve was very active in the Tracy Public Schools. When she was only
13, and her younger sister Evelyn was 11, they swam 1.25 miles across
Lake Shetek. She also taught swimming lessons and took part in swimming
and diving competitions at the original Tepeeotah resort. She had a life
membership in the Eastern Star, joining at age 18, and was a life long
member of the Presbyterian Church. Other organizations she was part of
in Tracy include the D.A.R., Sorosis Study Club, American Legion Auxiliary
and Wheels Across the Prairie Museum. After they made their home in Mesa,
Arizona, she became active in the Salvation Army and in Presbyterian and
Methodist church circles and study groups.
On February 16, 2007 Genevieve died in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 97.
Genevieve is survived by her daughter, Susan Hanson of Riverton, WY; one
granddaughter, Julee Hanson of Aurora, CO; one grandson, Jeff Hanson of
Albuquerque, NM; one sister, Evelyn Shoeman of Tracy, MN; one nephew,
Don Shoeman of Shoreview, MN, and one niece, Kaye Ivatts of Sharon, MA.
Her parents, husband of 58 years, Robert, and one daughter, Lynn preceded
her in death.
Patricia Holmbeck, 64
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 7, 2007 at the Lake Sarah Lutheran
Church in Garvin, MN for Patricia Holmbeck.
Patricia Jane Holmbeck was born October 11, 1942 to Marlo and Martha Triplett
at her family’s home in Lake Sarah Township, Murray County, MN.
She was baptized in Trinity Lutheran Church in Tracy, MN and attended
Tracy Public Schools, where she graduated from Tracy High School.
On March 6, 1959 Pat married Ronald Holmbeck at the Lake Sarah Lutheran
Church and they made their home in Tracy until 1980 when they moved to
their home on Lake Sarah, near Garvin. Pat was employed at the Christian
Manor Nursing Home and at Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy for
many years, retiring in 2003. After Ron’s death in 2001 she continued
to live in her home on Lake Sarah.
She was a member of the Lake Sarah Lutheran Church in Garvin and active
over the years in the church women’s groups. Pat was also a past
member of the Roaring Lions Cycle Club and the Two Cylinder Club, a John
Deere organization. She enjoyed riding motorcycle, crocheting, gardening,
and loved to play the accordion. Pat also enjoyed traveling and spent
many winters in Alamo, TX.
On Wednesday, May 2, 2007 Pat died at the Sanford-Sioux Valley Medical
Center in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 64.
Pat is survived by her mother, Martha Triplett of Tracy, MN; fiancée,
Howard Deitchman of Garvin, MN; adoptive family, Judy (Dennis) Alexander
of Tracy, MN; two grandsons, Brandon Alexander and Chris (Megan) Alexander;
two brothers, LeRoy (Sara) Triplett of Redwood Falls, MN and Merlyn (Delores)
Triplett of Brookings, SD; Howard’s children, Mitch Deitchman of
Klontarf, MN, Sue Deitchman of Adrian, MN and Kris Deitchman of Lafefield,
MN; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her father, Marlo, husband, Ron, and son, Ronnie preceded her in death.
Interment was at the Tracy City Cemetery. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy
handled the arrangements.
Dorothy Smith, 81
Funeral services were held for Dorothy Ogle Smith on Tuesday, April 3,
2007 at Grace Bible Church in Bozeman, Montana.
Dorothy Georgene Rose was born February 22, 1926 in St. Cloud, MN to Terrance
and Francis Rose. She was raised near Walnut Grove, MN.
Dorothy completed her teaching degree at Mankato State Teachers College
in 1945 and taught grade school for one year in Worthington, MN.
Dorothy and Clayton Ogle were married in the First United Methodist Church
in Tracy on June 21, 1947. The couple moved to Missoula, Montana where
Dorothy taught second grade while Clayton completed his degree at the
University of Montana. In 1967 the family moved to Bozeman, where Dorothy
continued to substitute teach, was very involved in activities of her
church and her children, and lived the remainder of her life. In 1989
Dorothy and Clayton divorced.
Dorothy married Raymond Smith, September 1, 1993, and they shared many
years of happiness before her illness in recent years. Dorothy and Ray
enjoyed traveling and time with friends and family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Raymond Smith of Bozeman, brother
Howard (Claire) Rose, children Randy and wife Gini Ogle of Kalispell,
Bob and wife Sandra Ogle of Austin, TX, Dan Ogle of Meridian, ID, Cheri
and husband Ralph Arthur of Riverside, CA, five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
Interment was in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Bozeman, Montana.
