Emma Rupp, 93

Emma L. Rupp age 93 of Tracy, MN died Sunday, June 24, 2007 at the Benedictine Living Community Center in St. Peter, MN. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2007 at the Almlie Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Emma L. Rupp was born April 4, 1914 to Gustave and Helen (Wefel) Orloske on the family farm in Cottonwood County near Jeffers, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended public school in Jeffers, graduating from Jeffers High School in 1931. After attending Teachers College in Windom, MN Emma taught in country schools in Murray County until her marriage.

On June 1, 1939 Emma married Leslie Clayton Rupp of Westbrook, MN and they made their home on a farm five miles south of Tracy, where Emma lived until she became a resident of the Tracy Nursing Home in June of 2006.

She was a member of the Tracy Lutheran Church and over the years was very active in many activities including as a Sunday School teacher, a Bible study leader, and attending many Do-Days. Because she loved to sew, she made several hundred quilts for Lutheran World Relief, as well as quilts for relatives and friends.

Emma was also a member of her neighborhood club and the Shetek Sewing Society for decades. She enjoyed visiting her family, keeping her garden and reading.

In November of 2006 Emma became a resident of the Benedictine Living Community Center in St. Peter, MN to be closer to her two children. Emma died Sunday, June 24, 2007 at the age of 93.

Emma is survived by her one son, Darold Rupp of Mankato, MN; one daughter, Pat Rossing of Mankato, MN; one grandson, Ryan (Melissa) Rossing of Lakeville, MN; two great grandsons, Lucas and Jonas Rossing of Lakeville, MN; one sister, Ruth (Ralph) Robinson of Windom, MN; one brother, Raymond (Arlene) Orloske of Windom, MN; and many other relatives and friends.

Her parents, husband, Clayton, five sisters, Helen Wintemute, Ruby Schwanke, Olga Burns, Elsie Radtke and Marie Lehnhoff and one brother, Gus Orloske preceded her in death.

Interment will be at the Tracy City Cemetery. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.
