Sharon Polzine, 58

Sharon Polzine age 58 of Tracy, passed away Sunday at “Our House of Murray County” Hospice House in Slayton. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Church of Christ in Tracy, Minnesota. Visitation will be 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Tracy Area Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. There will be a 8:00 p.m. prayer service Wednesday evening. Interment will be in the Tracy Cemetery. Tracy Area Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Sharon Marie Polzine was born June 21, 1949 to Heye and Delaine (Meester) Gronewold in Adrian, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington, MN. Shari received her education attending Worthington Public School, graduating in 1967.

In June of 1967 she and Donald Polzine were married and later divorced. They lived in Worthington, MN until moving to Tracy in 1977. Shari moved to Bloomington, MN in 2003 and resided there until April. She came back to Tracy to be near her daughter and family. She became a resident of Our House Of Murray County on August 4th.

Shari worked at the Tracy Nursing Home as a cook for 24 years. During her lifetime she had several jobs including babysitting, seamstress, clerk and landscaper. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, refinishing furniture, gardening, and activities with her grandchildren.

Shari fought a brave and valiant battle with cancer and passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at the hospice house in Slayton. She was 58 years old. She will lovingly be remembered by her two daughters, Melissa (Kirk) Whiting, Bloomington, MN and Madonna (Pat) Peterson, Tracy, MN; three grandsons, Casey Polzine and Jacob Peterson, Tracy, MN, Tyler Whiting, Bloomington, MN; two granddaughters, Paula Whiting, Hopkins, MN and Heather Whiting, Bloomington, MN; one great-grandson, Caleb Rich, Hopkins, MN; sister, Judy (Ray) Smith, Garden City, KS; two brothers, Jerry (Mohoney) (Ardes) Gronewold, Stephen (Vickie) Gronewold, both of Worthington, MN; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.

Shari was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and special friend, Joe Johns.
