LaRayne Johnson, 56

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 for LaRayne Johnson at the Kenneth Lutheran Church in Kenneth with Rev. Kerry Boese officiating.

LaRayne Kay Johnson, age 56, of Fulda, formerly of Kenneth, died Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Fulda. She was born on March 30, 1951 in Kensington, MN to parents Floyd and Delores (Hubred) Johnson. LaRayne attended school in Magnolia and Stewart’s School of Cosmetology, Sioux Falls.

After graduation, she worked in Omaha for a short time before going to work in Tracy, where she owned the Flair Beauty Salon. In later years, she also worked at the American Legion as a Bar Maid and later at the Tracy Municipal Bar where she was still employed.

She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, canning and sharing her veggies and jams and jelly with friends and family. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, dancing, bowling and playing pool with her friends.

LaRayne is survived by her parents, Floyd and Joan Johnson, Magnolia; brothers, Gary Johnson, Wells, and Dan Pick, St. Cloud; sister, Deborah (Jerry) Remme, Jackson; nephews, Joe Pick, Wells; James Pick, Mankato; Chris Remme, Jackson; Nieces, Jessica Remme and Stacy Remme, Jackson; Ashley Remme, Tracy; Mandy Pick, Eugene, OR; great nephew, Taylor Remme, Jackson; and grandmother, Louise Suedkamp, Ellsworth.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Delores Johnson and her grandparents.

Burial was in the Kenneth Cemetery, Kenneth, MN.


Delores Frisvold, 74

Delores Cecelia (LaVoie) Frisvold, 74, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at her home in Villard, Minnesota.

A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 341 Commercial Ave., Villard, MN 56385 on Saturday, September 22 at 2:00 p.m.

Delores was born on a farm in Murray County on January 31, 1933 to Lawrence and Helen LaVoie.

Delores enjoyed her retirement days playing bingo and cards at the Senior Center in Glenwood and Villard, Minnesota. She spent many afternoons shopping. She especially enjoyed time with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her constant companion Mitzi, her Yorkie terrier. Delores loved long drives with her husband to enjoy the changing seasons.

Delores is survived by her husband, Ingvold. Her children Dale Olson (Kathy) of Mounds View, MN; Gerald (Shirley) Olson of Fernandina Beach, FL; Sharon (Ron) Lemke of Pequot Lakes, MN; and Mary Olson and Diane Jacobson of Redwood Falls, MN. Fifteen grandchildren Brian, Bobby, Brad, Barbie, Chris, Laura, Rhonda, Kristy, David, Shannon, Gina, Tamara, Erich, Kirsten and Tiffany; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Terry Olson, her first husband Leonard, and her parents.


Henry Cooper, 78

Henry Cooper age 78 of rural Walnut Grove passed away on Monday, September 17, 2007 at Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 20, at the Tracy Area Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Thursday. Interment is in the Tracy City Cemetery. The Tracy Area Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Henry B. Cooper was the 4th child born to George Leonard & Alta May (Doble) Cooper on November 24, 1928 at the farm home in Springdale Township near Walnut Grove, MN. Henry grew up on the farm and went to country school district 24 in Springdale Township through the 8th grade. He worked on the farm until he was drafted into the military in the spring of 1951. Henry served in the Korean War with a heavy weapons company. He received his honorable discharge in June of 1953. After the service, Henry returned home to farm with his dad and brother Donald. He and his brother raised Registered Hampshire Hogs for 44 years. They also fed 350 cattle each year. Sometime in the 70’s they sold two loads of cattle at Sioux City, Iowa for $57.00, which was the highest price in the USA that day. In September 1997, Henry suffered a stroke and became a resident of the Valley View Manor in Lamberton. On August 21, 2007 Henry went to the Springfield Hospital, and to the Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato on August 28th. It was there that he passed away on September 17th at 2:15 a.m. at the age of 78. Henry enjoyed woodworking, as he made cabinets and benches for his shop.

Henry is survived by his sister Florence (Lourdes) Nuese of Marshall; brothers Donald of the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy & Harold (Joyce) of rural Tracy; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruby Cooper and a nephew Bruce Cooper in 1963.
