 LeRoy Triplett, 65 

LeRoy “Trip” Triplett age 65 of Redwood Falls passed away Wednesday, March 04, 2009 at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale as the result of a tragic motor vehicle accident.  Funeral services were held on Monday, March 9 at The Assembly of God Church in Redwood Falls.  Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery, near Garvin, Minnesota.  Online condolences may be sent via www.redwoodvalleyfuneralhome.com.  The Redwood Valley Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

LeRoy was born January 12, 1944 in Lake Wilson, MN to Marlo & Martha (Gilb) Triplett.  He attended Lake Sarah Lutheran Church in Garvin while growing up.  LeRoy went to school in Garvin through the 5th grade, then attended school in Tracy.  He graduated from Tracy High School in 1962.  LeRoy went on to Lee Barber School in St. Paul, and began his barbering career in 1963 in Mankato. 

On October 16, 1965 in Garvin, MN, LeRoy married Sara Robinson, his school bus sweetheart.  Together the couple moved to Edina where their two children, Mark and Rebecca, were born.  In 1973 the family moved to Redwood Falls where “Trip” owned and operated HIS Barbershop.  He was a member of the Redwood Falls Assembly of God Church for 27 years, where he had served as a board member, Sunday school teacher, men’s leader, a royal ranger leader, and as a small group Bible study leader.  Since 2005, he has been a member of the Springfield Assembly of God Church.  There he served as an usher, greeter, and as chairman of the outreach committee.  LeRoy was very adventuresome.  He enjoyed traveling, windsurfing and spending time at the cabin.  He loved nature, especially the flowers growing in the garden, watching the birds, and cutting wood.  He also enjoyed running and walks with Sara.  He was a collector of peculiar items and enjoyed old tractors and engines.  LeRoy especially enjoyed surprising his granddaughters with his “Magic candy pouch”.

LeRoy is survived by his wife Sara of 43 years; children: Mark Triplett of Wilmington, NC and Rebecca and husband Mike Bartz of Carolina Beach, NC; granddaughters Lyvia & Eleanor Bartz; his mother Martha Triplett of Tracy; brother Merlyn and wife Delores Triplett of Brookings, SD and their three sons: Jay, Dean & Lee.  He is also survived by other relatives and numerous friends. 

Preceding him in death are his father Marlo, sister Pat, nephew Ronnie and a brother-in-law Ron.
