Carroll Beens, 69
Carroll Arnold Beens age 69 of Tracy
passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009 at the Prairie Home Hospice in
Marshall. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the
Grace Life Church in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 5:00 –
8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Tracy Area Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00
p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on
Friday. Interment is in the Gales Township Cemetery.
Carroll Beens was born July 5, 1939
in Tracy, Minnesota to Arnold and Lucille (Carlson) Beens. He attended
school in Walnut Grove and graduated in 1957. Carroll started Beens
Distributing in 1985 where he worked until retiring in January 2009.
Carroll was a charter member of the Tracy Eagles Club. He enjoyed
shooting pool, watching Western Movies and races. He was a big supporter
of his children and grandchildren in their sporting activities. He loved
visiting and spending time with his customers, neighbors, friends and family.
Carroll is survived by his wife
Carroll; six children; fifteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren;
brothers Ron Beens and wife Karla of Walnut Grove, and Brian Beens of Wabasso;
and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death are his
parents, one grandson, and many friends and relatives.

Mary Hansen, 91
Funeral services were held today,
Wed., June 10, 2009 for Mary Ellen Hansen at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in
Currie, MN with Fr. Larry Brixius officiating. The organist was Micah
Sunderman. The song leaders were LoAnn Hansen and Kristin Hansen with
special music by Marissa Brengman. The pallbearers were her
grandchildren. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery Currie, MN.
Mary Hansen was born on November 30,
1917 on the family farm near Currie, Minnesota to Thomas and Susan Biren Leonard.
She grew up on the farm and attended Country School District #47 and graduated
from Immaculate Heart of Mary School in 1935.
On January 4, 1939 she and Leo
Hansen were married at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Currie.
Following their marriage they farmed near Currie and raised their six
children. Mary later worked at Gardner’s Grocery Store in Currie.
In 1989 they retired and moved to Currie.
In August 2008 Mary became a
resident of the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy. Mary passed away
on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the Sanford Tracy Medical Center in Tracy at the age
of 91.
She was a member of Immaculate Heart
of Mary Church in Currie and was active in the WCCW, and Altar Society where
she held various offices in both organizations. Mary also was a member of
the Catholic Daughters of America and a 4-H leader. Mary made many quilts
for her children, grandchildren and missions. Mary enjoyed spending time
with her family, baking, gardening, flowers, and bird watching.
Survivors include her husband, Leo
Hansen of Currie, MN, six children and spouses, Richard and Marilyn Hansen of
Walnut Grove, MN, Mary (Fran) and Ray Busch of Fulda, MN, James and LoAnn
Hansen of Currie, MN, John and Kristin Hansen of Currie, MN, Patricia and
Lawrence Carlson of Westbrook, MN, and Herbert and Marsha Hansen of Dovray, MN,
23 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Gertrude Donahue of
Sleepy Eye, MN.
She is preceded in death by her
parents, two son-in-laws, Hugh Bangasser, and Donald Kramer, one
granddaughter-in-law, Lori Bangasser, sister, Anne Donahue, and two brothers,
John and Tom Leonard.

Fort Snelling
Friends of Michael J.
Ramsey are invited to a “celebration of life” service at Fort Snelling National
Cemetery Monday, June 29.
The gathering is planned
at 10:45 a.m. at Assembly Area No. 4, just north of Hwy. 494 at 34th Ave. South in Minneapolis. (across from the Hubert H. Humphery airport
terminal.)
A burial service with
military honors will take place at 11 a.m.
A post-service gathering
is planned in Roseville at noon for family and friends. Maps will be provided after the
service.
Ramsey, a longtime Tracy
and Lake Shetek area resident, died on March 14, 2009.
