Myrtle
Ravers
A memorial service for Myrtle
(Stienke) Ravers is planned next week at the Almlie Funeral Home.
The service will be conducted
Thursday, July 23, at 1 p.m. Interment will be at the Tracy Cemetery. Mrs. Ravers died on April 6, 2009.
Robert Scott, 45
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 10, 2009 at St. Mary’s
Catholic Church in Tracy for Robert J. Scott, age 47 of Tracy, MN.
Robert Joseph Scott was born April
25, 1962 to Dale and Doris (Kosse) Scott in Tracy, MN, Lyon County. He was baptized, received first Holy
Communion and confirmed in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy. Bob attended St. Mary’s Catholic school
and Tracy Public Schools.
Bob stayed on the family farm,
between Tracy and Garvin, MN, and worked with his father and brother, and also
raised livestock. He had also
worked two seasons with a combine crew. Farming was his favorite pastime and he took great care in the
machinery, keeping them all clean and polished. He enjoyed watching the Three Stooges, Laurel and Hardy and
older television shows, hunting, when he was younger, fishing, gardening and he
took great pride in his truck.
His faith was very important to him
and it was known in his family that he carried a small crucifix on him at all
times. Bob was a life-long member
of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy and seldom missed a Saturday evening
mass.
On Sunday, July 5, 2009 Bob died at
his home, very unexpectedly, at the age of 47.
Robert is survived by his father and
mother, Dale and Doris Scott of Tracy, MN; one brother, Chuck Scott of Garvin,
MN, four sisters, Deb Tanghe-Dale of Marshall, MN, Loretta Utsler of Backus,
MN, Leanne (Jim) McMahon and Chris (Kevin) Lanners, both of Tracy, MN; paternal
grandfather, Willis Scott of Tracy, MN; one uncle, Donald (Dolly) Scott of
Tracy, MN; two aunts, Theresa (Charles) Buyck of Tracy, MN and Dianne Annibel of
Tucson, AZ; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
His maternal grandparents, paternal
grandmother, one aunt, LaVonne (Arnold) Henning and one uncle, Bob Kosse
preceded him in death.
Interment was at the Calvary
Cemetery in Tracy. The
Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy handled the arrangements.

Dale Sherman, 45
Funeral Services were held today,
Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the Balaton High School for Dale W. Sherman, age 45
of Balaton.
Dale Wallace Sherman was born May
27, 1964 to Edgar “Wally” and Charlotte (Fagg) Sherman in Olivia, MN, Renville
County. He was baptized in St.
Lukes Lutheran Church in Franklin, MN and as a young boy, moved with his family
to Balaton, MN in 1969. He was
confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church in Balaton and attended Balaton Public
Schools, graduating from Balaton High School in 1982. Dale enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1982 until
1986. Upon receiving his honorable
discharge He returned to Balaton and went to work for MCP in Marshall, MN as a
supervisor. Dale was also farming
part-time.
On July 28, 1990 Dale married
Darleen Mathews at Trinity Lutheran Church in Balaton. They made their home in Balaton and
Dale left MCP in 1995, after twelve years, to farm full time. Dale became a USDA farm Advocate for
about five years, until 2008, and continued to farm until his death.
Dale was a member of the Trinity
Lutheran Church in Balaton, and also the American Legion, serving on the Honor
Guard. He had served on the
Balaton School Board in the past, as well. He will be remembered by friends and family as the man who
could not say no. He was always
willing to help someone in need, often times leaving his own work till others
were done. He enjoyed riding his
Harley, helping friends, watching the history channel, and building things with
his hands. Working on the farm,
was never work to him. He loved
spending time with his family and cherished his two grandsons very much.
On Friday, July 10, 2009 Dale died
at the Avera-Marshall Medical Center at the age of 45.
Dale is survived by his wife,
Darleen Sherman of Balaton, MN; three daughters, Dawn Sherman of Pipestone, MN,
Danielle and DeziRae Sherman, both of Balaton, MN; two grandsons, Izak and
Karter Wixon of Pipestone, MN; father, Wally Sherman and mother, Charlotte
Sherman, both of Balaton, MN; two sisters, Beatrice (Chris) Olsen of Marshall,
MN and DeAnna (Kevin) Hanson of Chanhassen, MN; one brother, Reinhart Sherman
of Lovington, NM; father-in-law, Virgil (Deloris) Mathews of Walnut Grove, MN;
mother-in-law, Janice (John) Steinle of Balaton, MN; very special sister, Sara
Connelly of Marshall, MN; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a great many
friends.
His grandparents preceded him in
death.
A committal service was held
following the service with full military honors at the Sherman farm site.
The Almlie Funeral Home of
Balaton handled the arrangements.
