Evelyn Ness - Bauman, 91
Evelyn A. Ness - Bauman,
age 91 of Montevideo, formerly of Walnut Grove passed away on October 29, 2009
at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo, MN. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 2, 2009 at
the Tracy Lutheran Church.
Evelyn A. Ness –
Bauman was born on September 25, 1918 to Anton and Elise (Haugen) Ness in
McClusky, North Dakota, Mercer County. She graduated from Mandan High School in North Dakota and was a member
of the Tracy Lutheran Church.
Evelyn married Quentin
Roberts in Mandan North Dakota. On
September 12, 1959 she married John Bauman in Walnut Grove, MN. Over the years, she lived in
California, Mandan, North Dakota, spent a number of years on a farm near
Clarkfield, MN, moved to Tracy and Walnut Grove before spending the last twenty
years in Montevideo, MN.
In the past, Evelyn was
a homemaker and also worked for a number of years as bookkeeper for the Tri
County Coop in Tracy. She enjoyed
reading, night fishing on Lake Minnewaska, scrapbooking, hand crafts and
playing cards.
On Thursday, October 29,
2009 Evelyn passed away at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo
surrounded by her loving family at the age of 91.
Evelyn is survived by
her one daughter, Winnifred (Curtis) Severson of Clarkfield, MN; one brother,
Paul Ness of Dillsburg, PA; one sister, June (Spencer) Kvam of Montevideo, MN;
three grandchildren, Natalie (Paul) Lynner of Clarkfield, MN, Connie (Tim)
Velde of Granite Falls, MN, and Brent (Denise) Severson of Niceville, FL; eight
great-grandchildren; twelve great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces,
nephews, and a host of friends.
Her parents, two
husbands, Quentin and John, two brothers, Merle and Carroll, and three infant
siblings preceded her in death.
Interment was at the
Tracy City Cemetery. The Almlie

Evelyn Fischer, 92
Evelyn Ann Fischer, age 92 of Wood
Lake, died Wednesday October, 28, 2009, at the Golden Living Center in Olivia.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2009 in St. John’s
Lutheran Church in Wood Lake with burial in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery,

Echo and Wabasso.
Evelyn Ann Fischer was born April
20, 1917, in Echo Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota to Walter and
Lillian (Busiahn) Just. She grew up in Echo Township and attended country
school.
On June 18, 1938, she was united in
marriage to Melvin Paul Fischer at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake.
They farmed in Echo Township before moving to their farm in Wood Lake Township
where they continued to live until Melvin’s death on March 18, 1997. Evelyn
moved to Granite Ridge in Granite Falls, then Fieldcrest in Cottonwood, then
Renvilla in Renville before entering the Golden Living Center in Olivia in May
of 2009. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wood Lake where she
sang in the choir and belonged to the Ladies Aid. Evelyn also belonged to a
birthday club in Wood Lake. She loved music, playing piano, baking, sewing and
spending time in her flower garden.
Evelyn Ann Fischer died on
Wednesday, October 28, 2009, in Olivia, Minnesota, surrounded by her loving
family, at the age of 92 years, six months and eight days. She is survived by
her children; Melvin A. Fischer (Beth) of Shakopee, LaVonne Kreft (Floyd) of
Mayer, AZ, Charles Fischer (Karen) of Wood Lake and daughter-in-law Elaine
Fischer of Tracy, 13 grandchildren; Michael Fischer, DeAnne Anderson, Mark
Fischer, Lynn Wanzek, Kari Landuyt, Jenna Fischer, Troy Fischer, Heidi
Cianflone, Holly Rohlik, Trudy Franking, Rhonda Williams, Jeffrey Fischer and
Allison King. Also surviving are her 25 great grandchildren, a great great
grandson, her sister Elaine Metz (Lew) of Mesquite, NV and a sister-in-law
Viola Just of Minnetonka.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin, her son William in 1992, a great grandson Brandon, two brothers Harold and Harlan Just and her sister Orlet Cole.
Dennis Peterson, 79
Dennis L. Peterson age 79 of Tracy
died Tues., Nov. 3, 2009.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Fri., Nov. 6, 2009 at Tracy Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thurs., Nov. 5 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.
Betty Schreier, 74
Betty Jean Schreier, age 74 of
Balaton passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Sanford-Sioux Falls
Medical Center. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the
Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall, MN.
Betty Jean Schreier was born on
April 27, 1935 to Raymond and Alice (LaJoie) Greenman in Shetek Township,
Murray County. She graduated from
Tracy Public Schools and was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith.
In July of 1957, Betty married Cleo
Schreier at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Currie, MN. Over the years, they moved several
times between Arizona and Balaton area before settling on the farm south of
Balaton in 1975.
Betty was a loving housewife and
mother who loved to cook and take care of her family. She loved flower and vegetable gardening, decorating cakes
for her grandchildren’s birthdays, was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, and most
importantly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren
and great grandchildren.
In late August of 2009, Betty became
a patient at the Sanford- Sioux Falls Medical Center as the result of an auto
accident where she died on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 surrounded by her loving
family.
Betty is survived by her two sons,
Larry Schreier of Lynd, MN and Randy (Connie) Schreier of Balaton, MN; two
brothers, Chuck (Alice) Greenman of Longmont, CO and Don (Judy) Greenman of
Hutchinson, MN; eight grandchildren, Sarah (and special friend Ryan), Larry
Jr., Sheila (and special friend Jason), Shawn, Randy Jr., Chad (Nicole),
Jeremy, and Katie; thirteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and
a host of friends.
Her parents, daughter Suzanne,
sister Elaine, and infant brother Raymond Jr. preceded her in death. Blessed be her memory.
Interment was in the Calvary
Catholic Cemetery in Tracy. The
