Morris C. Ohman,
77
Morris C. Ohman age 77 of Tracy
passed away on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Sanford Tracy Medical Center after
an extended illness. Due to Morris’ wishes a private family service will be
held at a later date with burial in the Tracy City Cemetery. The Tracy Area

Morris C. Ohman was born October 27,
1932 to Donald and Pearl (Klien) Ohman in Tracy, Minnesota. He was baptized and
confirmed at the Methodist Church in Tracy. Morris graduated from the Tracy
High School in 1951. On November 24, 1953, Morris was united in marriage
to Virginia Danielson in Tracy. He was co-partner, with Pearl Ohman and Leona
Ingalls, at Ohman and Son Furniture Store in Tracy. He was respected for
his willingness to help many people in various circumstances in life. Morris
served on the Tracy Fire Department for 22 years. He was a member of Masonic
Lodge and Pistol and Rifle Club. Morris loved woodworking and helped with totally
remodeling four homes and helped various friends with their remodeling.
Morris is survived by his wife
Virginia of 55 years; two sons: Maurel (Deb) Ohman and David both from Tracy;
granddaughter Melissa; and great-grandson Hayden. Also surviving is sister Jean
(Dwight) Moon of St. Francis, MN; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his
father, mother and great-granddaughter Madyson Stirn.
Lyle Starks, 91
Funeral services were held Monday,
November 30, 2009 at Tracy United Methodist Church in Tracy, MN, for Lyle Y.
Starks.
Lyle York Starks was born July 16,
1918 to Nicholas and Blanche (York) Starks near Agate, NE, Sioux County. He was the eldest of nine children and
attended country school and at sixteen he went to work, as a ranch hand, on the
Cherry Ranch. In 1941 he entered
the US Army and served until his honorable discharge in 1946, when he returned
to Nebraska.
On 5, 1946 Lyle married Imogene
Veline in Scott’s Bluff, NE. They
made their home in the Gering, NE area for several years. In 1948 they moved to Chadron, NE where
together with his wife they owned and operated a plumbing business. In 1950 they moved to a farm in the
Amiret, MN area, where he raised cattle and farmed until 1996 when they moved
into Tracy, MN. In 2003 he moved
into an assisted living complex in Brandon, SD.
Besides enjoying his life as a
rancher, Lyle enjoyed cattle roping, wood and leather working, hunting,
fishing, especially ice fishing, playing guitar and he loved children.
In August of 2008 Lyle became a
resident of the Avera-Prince of Peace Retirement Community in Sioux Falls, SD,
where he died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the age of 91.
Lyle is survived by his two
daughters, Sonja (John) Lynch of Sioux Falls, SD and Bonnie Starks of Eugene,
OR; two grandchildren, Heather (David) DeVries and Jason (Ann) Lynch; six great
grandchildren, Logan, Lucas, Landon, Ian, Brionna, and Micayla; four sisters,
Barbara Campbell of Riverton, WY, Joan (Joe) Kerns of Morrill, NE, Jean Randall
of Helotes, TX, and Georgia Eckhardt of West Blocton, AL; nieces, nephews and
friends.
His wife, Imogene, parents, two
brothers, Charles and John, and two sisters, Mabel Cashatt and Edna Meyers
preceded him in death.
Interment was in the Bethel
Cemetery. The Almlie Funeral Home
