Tammy Hoflock, 44
Funeral services were held for Tammy Hoflock, age 44, of Tracy, on
Monday, July 26, 2010 at Tracy Lutheran Church. Interment was at the Tracy City
Cemetery. The Almlie Funeral Home
of Tracy handled the arrangements.
Tammy Jean Hoflock was born October
17, 1965 to Vernon and Katherine (Haney) Sanow in Marshall, MN, Lyon
County. She was baptized into the
Christian faith and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Tracy, MN. Tammy attended Marshall and Tracy
Public Schools, graduating from Tracy High School in 1984. As a young woman she began working at
Schwan’s in Marshall in 1982.
On July 25th 1987 Tammy married
Kevin Hoflock at Zion Lutheran Church in Tracy and they made their home in
Tracy. After several years as a
part-time employee of Schwan’s, she went to work full-time as a receptionist in
the ice cream plant, where she worked up until her hospitalization.
Tammy enjoyed high school basketball
and volleyball, the Minnesota Vikings and Twins, and collecting Coca-Cola and
Schwan’s memorabilia. She also
loved shopping at JC Penney, ice fishing and spending time with her many family
and friends. Not having any
children of her own, Tammy will always be remembered as a favorite aunt by her
Sanow and Hoflock nieces and nephews.
On Wednesday, July 21, 2010 Tammy
died at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD of complications from an
aneurysm, at the age of 44.
Tammy is survived by her husband,
Kevin Hoflock of Tracy, MN; her father, Vernon Sanow Sr. of Tracy, MN; one
sister, Deb (Mark) Magnuson of Cold Spring, MN; four brothers, Vernon (Cindy)
Sanow Jr. of Tracy, MN, Jerry (Kim) Sanow of Amiret, MN, Marvin (Mary) Sanow of
Tracy, MN and Scott (Julie) Sanow of Garvin, MN; foster brother, Pat (Dyann)
McCarthy of Lake Benton, MN; six brothers-in-law, Larry Hoflock and Todd (Jill)
Hoflock both of Sioux Falls, SD, Wes (Tammy) Hoflock of Tracy, MN, Raymond
(Karen) Hoflock of Richmond, MN and Gary (Mary) Hoflock and Ronnie (Karen)
Hoflock both of Marshall, MN; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews,
and many other relatives and friends.
Her beloved mother, Katherine,
infant sister, Kelly, father and mother-in-law, Ray and Betty Hoflock, infant
nephew, Dereck, and grandparents, Harry and Jennie Haney and Frank and Fanna
Sanow preceded her in death.
Harold Leonard, 58
A funeral service
celebrating the life of Harold J. Leonard, 58, of South Haven, was held on
Monday, July 26, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale. The Reverend Dave
Nelson officiated. Harold passed away July 21, 2010 at his home, surrounded by
his loving family, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.
Harold was born on
January 17, 1952 in Tracy, MN, to Thomas and Lorraine (Menk) Leonard. He lived
on the Leonard family farm until the age of 15 when the family moved to
Glenwood, MN. Harold married the love of his life, Lynda (Hastings), on
September 4, 1982.
Harold was an engineer
at Honeywell/Alliant Techsystems, a builder, and a building official for the
City of Otsego, MN. He was a success at anything and everything he took on. He
had many obstacles in his life and he approached them head on with a
determination that nothing could stop him.
Harold is survived by:
his wife Lynda of South Haven; daughter Sherrie (Ryan) Schwechler of Hudson,
WI, sons Troy (Jamie Haala) of Shoreview, MN, Christopher (Alicia) of Ham Lake;
seven grandsons: Reid, Matthew, Wade, and Aaron Schwechler, Zachery and Cole
Leonard, and Antonio Tekautz; mother Lorraine Leonard of Waite Park; six
brothers, Charles (Nancy) of Kimball, Gerald (Mary) of Tracy, William (Loretta)
of Morris, Jerome (Lori) of Kimball, Paul (Barb) of Cyrus, Tim (Amy) of Young
America; two sisters Susan (Craig) Tvrdik of Alexandria, and Carol (Darwin)
Whaley of St. Michael; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death
by his father, father and mother-in-law Knox and Betty Hastings.
Harold’s family would
like to extend special thanks to the St. Cloud Hospital Oncology and Hospice
Nurses.
Vernon Zabel, 78
Vernon D. Zabel
age 78 of Tracy, MN died Monday, July 19, 2010 at the Avera-Marshall Medical
Center in Marshall, MN. Services were held Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Tracy
Lutheran Church. Interment was in
the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery following the luncheon at the church. The Almlie
Funeral Home of Tracy handled the arrangements.
Vernon Dale
Zabel was born May 24, 1932 to Walter and Mabel (Swan) Zabel in Tracy, MN. He
was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended country school.
Vernon started farming on the family farm near Garvin, MN at the age of 16.
On October 13,
1962 Vernon married Gloria Chase of Pipestone, MN in Trinity Lutheran Church in
Balaton, MN. They made their home on his family farm where he farmed until the
late 1990’s. He then went to work for Mid-Continent Cabinetry in Cottonwood,
MN. In 2001 he retired and they remained on the family farm until they moved
into Tracy in 2002.
He was a past
member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Balaton, where he served on the church
council, several committees, ushered and volunteered with the church expansion.
After moving to Tracy he became a member of Tracy Lutheran Church. While his
children were young he and his wife, were involved in Garvin Hi-Fliers 4-H
Club, and managed the 4-H food stand at the Lyon County Fair for two years.
Vernon enjoyed trapping and fishing, managing a diversified farm, traveling and
time spent with his family.
On Monday, July
19, 2010 Vernon entered into the kingdom of God, from complications of heart
disease. He was surrounded by God’s love and his family at the time of his
passing at Avera-Marshall Medical Center in Marshall, MN at the age of 78.
Vernon is
survived by his wife, Gloria Zabel of Tracy, MN; two daughters, Ardis (Bob)
Baumgartner of Lynd, MN and Jane (Charles) Sabinske of Walnut Grove, MN; two
sons, Richard (Annette) Zabel of Pierre, SD and Joel (fiancé, Mary) Zabel of
Garvin, MN; seven grandchildren, Susan, Jeremy and Robert Zabel, all of Pierre,
SD, Joel Aaron Zabel of Garvin, MN, Rheanne Sabinske of Walnut Grove, MN, and
Misty and Tianna Scott of Pierre, SD; one great granddaughter, Ella Nora Zabel
of Pierre, SD; mother-in-law, Dorie Chase of Pipestone, MN; sister-in-law,
Carol (Kenneth) Thompson of Galena Park, TX; two nephews, Brandon Richards and
Travis Thompson, both of Galena Park, TX; and many other relatives and friends.
His parents,
Walter and Mabel Zabel, father-in-law, Phil Chase, paternal grandparents,
Julius and Augusta Zabel and maternal grandparents, Charles and Anna Swan
preceded him in death.
