Adeline DeMorrett, 74
Adeline F. DeMorrett, age 74,
St. Cloud, MN, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House,
St. Augusta, MN.
Funeral services were held
Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Benson Funeral Home Chapel, St.
Cloud, MN. Burial was in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little
Falls, MN.
Adeline was born on May 10,
1936 in Tracy, MN to Leo and Ceceilia (Logue) Welsh. She married Lawrence
DeMorrett on August 25, 1956 in Tracy, MN. Adeline worked as a bookkeeper
for Ford Motor Company, Sandstone, MN. She then was a nanny for Brian and Adam
Fanslau. Adeline then worked at the Clearwater Travel Plaza, where she
was know as, “The Apple Lady”.
Survivors include her husband,
Lawrence DeMorrett of St. Cloud, MN; daughters, Patrice DeMorrett of Sandstone,
MN; Lisa Hickman of St. Cloud, MN; brothers, Daniel B. Welsh of Roseville, MN;
James Welsh of St. Louis Park, MN; and four grandchildren, Justin DeMorrett and
Carrie Casey of Sartell, MN; Matthew Hickman, Nicholas Hickman, and Katie
Hickman all of St. Cloud, MN; sister-in-law, Martha Lee of Litchfield, MN; and
several nieces and nephews.
She was
preceded in death by her parents and several brother-in-laws and
sister-in-laws.
Wilma Manken 89
Wilma M. Molle Manken, 89 of
Worthington, MN was born September 3, 1921 at Garvin, MN the daughter of Wm. G.
Molle and Clara A. Pihl Molle. Wilma attended grade school in Garvin and graduated high school at Tracy,
MN.
As a young woman she was a
cook at the Tracy Hospital until her marriage. On December 16, 1943 Wilma was married to Norman F. Manken
in Tracy. Together Norman and
Wilma owned and operated Manken Appliance until their retirement.
Wilma enjoyed gardening,
sewing and quilting.
Wilma passed away on Monday,
Sept. 6, 2010 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Wyoming, MN.
Wilma is survived by three
daughters, Clara Graham of Littleton, CO, Nancy (Gene) Boyer of Wyoming, MN and
Mary Manken of Colorado Springs, CO; one son Norman Jr. (Vicki) Manken of Ogden, IA; 13 grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vera Wendorff, Tracy, MN, Althea (Wm.)
Kennedy and Ruth (Larry) Karlson both of Spokane, WA., numerous nephews, nieces,
cousins and friends.
Her husband, her parents and
three granddaughters preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held
September 11, 2010 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Worthington, where she
had been a member for 65 years. Pastor Tom Braun officiated. Wilma’s grandchildren served as casket bearers: Paula Nes Smith, Rachelle Scharping,
Gene Boyer, Jr., Keri Olson, Sara Schmidt, Jeni Peterson, Lisa Boyer, Lauren
Manken-Taylor, Norman Manken, III, Heather Manken, Jeremiah Menken, Jacob
Manken and Heidi Manken.

Brewster, MN.
Emma Reiter, 93
Mass of Christian Burial was
held for Emma Reiter, age 93, at St. Ann’s Church in Slayton, MN on Saturday,
September 25, 2010. Fr. James Von
Tobel officiated. The organist was Judy Andrews. The song leader
was Ruth Ann Laqua. The pallbearers were Dean Peterson, Mike Peterson,
Tom Reiter, Russell Reiter, Mitchell Morgan, Andrew Johnson, and Casey
Johnson. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery Currie, MN.
Emma Reiter was born on
February 19, 1917 in Atkinson, Illinois to Cesar and Gabriella Landuyt
DeBlieck. She grew up on the family farm and attended country
school.
On April 11, 1939 she and
Philip Reiter were married at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Currie,
MN. Following their marriage they farmed and raised their family near
Currie. Philip passed away on February 2, 1974. Emma then moved to Slayton
and worked at various businesses in Slayton.
In 2006 Emma moved to Prior
Lake, MN to be near family. Due to failing health Emma moved to Belle
Plaine Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine, MN and passed away peacefully there on
Monday, September 20, 2010 at the age of 93. She was a member of St.
Ann’s Church in Slayton and also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of
America. Those who knew her will never forget her sense of
humor, quick wit and twinkling eye.
She is survived and will be
forever missed by her five children, Robert Reiter and Colleen of Golden
Valley, MN, Beverly Peterson of Prior Lake, MN, Roger Reiter and Lavonne of
Prior Lake, MN, Brenda Haugen and Paul of Moorepark, CA, Bernice Johnson, and
Craig of Prior Lake, MN, 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one sister,
Doris Vallis of Reno, NV, and a host of family and friends.
Emma is preceded in death by
her parents, husband, Philip, one son-in-law, Ronald Peterson, two brothers,
Robert and Ralph DeBlieck, and one sister, Clara Strickenberger.
