Muriel Beebout, 88

Muriel Beebout age 88 of Milroy, MN died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, MN.  Services were held Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Milroy, MN.  Interment was at Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in Milroy.  The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy handled the arrangements. Muriel Mae Beebout was born April 16, 1922 to John and Mae (Simmons) Brakke on a farm in West Line Township, two miles east of Milroy, MN, in Redwood County.  She was baptized and confirmed in her home church of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Milroy and attended Milroy Public Schools.

On July 3, 1940 Muriel married Cleve Beebout in Rock Rapids, IA and they made their home on a farm southwest of Milroy.  In 1945 they bought a farm east of Milroy and continued to farm there until her husband’s death in 2002. 

Muriel was a housewife and mother of seven children, who not only orchestrated incredible meals for large groups three times a day, but ask anyone and the Beebout children were always “shined like new pennies”.  She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Milroy her entire life, where she was involved in Circle and many other church activities.  Muriel was also an amazing gardener.  She not only grew it, but canned it and cooked it.  She will be remembered by everyone as an excellent cook and as a farm wife, she not only kept track of the farm finances, she kept a weather journal faithfully for over 50 years.

In June of 2010 Muriel became a resident of Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, MN, where she died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the age of 88.    

Muriel is survived by her loving family; two daughters, Patricia (Gary) Stewerwald of Georgetown, TX, and Peggy (Larry) Rolland of Milroy, MN; two sons, Lynn (Deb) Beebout and Ronald (Gwen) Beebout, both of Milroy, MN; one daughter-in-law, Marianne Beebout of Gary, SD; two son-in-laws, James Gregor of Roseville, MN and Dale Snyder of Mankato, MN; fifteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Her husband, Cleve, one son, Doug, two daughters, Jackie Gregor and Jolene Snyder, grandson, Brooks and daughter-in-law, Gwen, two sisters, and three brothers preceded her in death.    

 

Lucille Brecht, 83

Lucille Margaret Brecht, passed away Oct 26, 2010.  A visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 29 from 5 - 7 Mayer Funeral Home in Austin, MN. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2010 at St. Augusta Catholic Church in Austin.

Burial is pending for Monday at Tracy Catholic Cemetery, Tracy, MN.

 

Dee DeLanghe, 72

Services for Dee DeLanghe, 72, of Brooklyn Park, formerly of Amiret, will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 at St. Mary’s Chapel, Holy Redeemer School, in Marshall. Visitation will be at the chapel from 12:00 to 1:00 for one hour prior to services. Lunch will be served in the Chapel basement immediately following services. 

Dee died on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN after a massive stroke.

Dee was born August 5, 1938, in Lamberton Township, Redwood County, to Walter and Martha (Domeier) Jandl. She grew up on her family’s farm near Amiret, MN and graduated from Tracy High School in 1956. Dee married Joe DeLanghe on December 04, 1960.  Joe and Dee traveled a lot during the early part of their marriage.  They lived several places in Texas, Colorado and Minnesota before settling in Amiret, MN to raise their three children. After the family was raised they moved to the cities and eventually made their home in Brooklyn Park. Dee loved to garden {especially flowers and house plants}, and she always loved to have company at the house.

Dee worked as a Nursing Assistant for most of her life, and enjoyed her work as a care giver very much. It was her nature to care for every one in her life. She was much more than a Mother, Grandmother, Sister an Aunt; she was also a “Dear Friend” to her family.

Dee was always young at heart and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and their friends.  She was loved by many people in addition to her family, and she will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Martha Jandl and by her sisters Lois Jandl and Mary Shields.  She is survived by siblings: Lucille Silverberg of Battle Lake, Charles Jandl of   Jordan, Jim Jandl of  Marshall,  Shirley Zylstra of Worthington and Bob Jandl of Crosby.  Her children  Jim DeLanghe of Duluth,  Michelle DeLanghe of Milroy and Darren DeLanghe of Amiret. Her grandchildren:  Jaime DeLanghe of Brooklyn, NY,  Kimberly DeLanghe of  Forest Grove, OR and Bobby DeLanghe of Bennington, VT.  and many nieces and nephews.

 

Jeannette A. Holm, 82

Jeannette A. Holm age 82 of Tracy, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Springfield.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Tracy.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Tracy Area Funeral Home.  Interment is in the Tracy Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at www.tracyareafuneralhome.com.  The Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Laverna Julich, 92

Laverna Julich page 92 of Tracy, formerly of Milroy, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls after a massive heart attack.  Funeral services were held at10:30 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church in Tracy.  Interment was in the Tracy City Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at www.tracyareafuneralhome.com.  The Tracy Area Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Laverna was born August 26, 1918 at home in Westline Township, Redwood County, Minnesota to Anton & Clara (Paul) Gilb.  She was baptized September 22, 1918, and confirmed March 29, 1931 both at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Milroy.  Laverna attended Milroy public school, graduating in 1936.  She received an Associate Degree and later a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education from Mankato State Teacher’s College.  She was an elementary teacher for 31 years, teaching in a rural school, North Redwood, Lamberton, Redwood Falls, and Milroy.  She is a member of Retired Educators Association of Minnesota. 

On June 26, 1951, Laverna was united in marriage to Otto Julich.  They lived on a farm in Gales Township near the Milroy community, until moving to Tracy in 1985.  She was a Sunday school teacher at St. John’s Lutheran Church for many years, beginning when she was just 13 years old.  Laverna was also a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she was active in its L.W.M.L. until it closed.  She was then a member of Zion Lutheran Church.  In her early years of retirement in Tracy, she volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Food Shelf and Friends of the Library.  Laverna enjoyed gardening, reading and needle crafting.

Laverna is survived by her daughter Paula Minse and husband Roland of Eagle Lake; sister Doris (Gordon) Hemish of Tracy; brother Clarence Gilb of Marshall; brother in law Leo Anderson of Redwood Falls; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Otto, and sisters Marjorie Anderson and Mabel Gilb.

 

Delpha Koch, 87

Delpha E. Koch age 87 of Garvin passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the Colonial Manor in Balaton.  Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church in Tracy.    Interment was in Hoiland Cemetery near Garvin.  Online condolences may be sent at www.tracyareafuneralhome.com.  The Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Delpha Elaine Koch was born June 4, 1923 in Garvin, MN to Ed & Ella (Lien) Nelson.  She was baptized July 15, 1923 by Rev. Govig at Hoiland Lutheran Church.  On September 6, 1936, she was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. U.L. Larsen.  Delpha graduated from Tracy High School in 1941.  She then attended L.P.N. Training at the Tracy Hospital, where she worked in nursing until the early 1970’s.  Delpha greatly enjoyed special duty nursing with critical care patients.  She loved nursing, and was very fond of the patients she helped care for. 

On January 23, 1947, Delpha was united in marriage to Melvin Koch at Zion Lutheran Church in Tracy.  The couple was blessed with 63 wonderful years of marriage.  Delpha loved her friends and family, and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was passionate about her ancestry, and was proud of her Norwegian heritage.  She had a good sense of humor and liked to tell Norwegian jokes.  Delpha was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church, and later Zion Lutheran Church.  She was very active in the LWML and with the alter guild.  She played violin in the  orchestra in high school, and played “500” in the neighborhood card club for many years.

Delpha is survived by her sons: Allan (Janette) Koch and Bruce (Phyllis) Koch all of Garvin; grandsons: Kyle Koch of Warroad, MN, Mark (Lisa) Koch and their daughter Mariah of Plymouth, MN, Jim (Megan) Koch and their children Grace, Patience, Lily, and Hudson of Sioux Falls, SD, and Brian Koch of Garvin; and many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin on October 1, 2010, and sisters: Amy Schweiso, Lorraine Nelson, and Betty Holland.

 

Harold Leversedge, 82

Harold Eugene Leversedge was born in Walnut Grove, Minnesota on December 15, 1927 to George and Thelma (Roush) Leversedge.  He grew up in Lyon and Redwood counties, attending country schools near Amiret and Tracy and the Tracy High School.  Harold joined the US Army in 1945 and served as a Pfc. in the military police on the west coast.

Harold married Betty Ann Esser in Currie in 1948 and they raised eight children.  He worked at various jobs in and around Currie, and in 1968, went to work for the City of Currie where he worked as the city’s maintenance superintendant until retirement in 1993.  Harold served on the Currie Fire Department and as fire chief for over 25 years.  He was a life member in the American Legion Lionel Boudreau Post 322 in Currie, serving as financial officer and membership director for many years.  Harold especially enjoyed preparing membership birthday dinners and post feeds.  Harold was also active in the Currie Town & Country and at the End-o-Line Park.  He was instrumental in the creation of a veteran’s memorial at the End-o-Line Park.

Harold died peacefully on October 22, 2010 at the Colonial Manor is Balaton. 

He is survived by four sons; Lewis, Minneapolis; Bruce (Bridget Caffrey), Minneapolis; Philip (Erica), Two Harbors; and Alan (Ok), Colorado Springs CO.  He is also survived by brothers Clyde (Hazel), Tucson, AZ; Bob (Vaughn), Cambridge City, IN; David (Betty), Balaton; and sister, LaDonna, Moore, OK.  Harold is survived by seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Elaine Engen, his wife of 14 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; sons; Scott, Brian and Loren and daughter, Kathryn and a sister Ruth.

A graveside memorial service is planned for 1:00 pm on November 6, 2010 at the Tracy Municipal Cemetery. 

 

Robert VandePutte, 82

Mass of Christian Burial for Robert VandePutte, 82, of Rural Marshall, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2010, at St Mary’s Chapel, Holy Redeemer School, in Marshall.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a CCW Rosary at 5:00 p.m. and a Parish Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Rehkamp – Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall.  Visitation will continue from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Chapel.  Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall.

Robert Joseph VandePutte was born on August 31, 1928, in Clifton Township, to Joseph and Leona (Vroman) VandePutte.  He was born, raised and lived his whole life on the family farm.  Robert was very passionate about farming, especially when caring for his animals.  On December 28, 1954, he was united in marriage to Joanne Hullopeter at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy.  The couple raised three children; Robbie, Cindy and Joel.  Family was very important to Robert.  He was a longtime member of the Clifton Township Board.  Robert was a very kind hearted and gentle man. 

Robert died on Sunday, October 24, 2010, at the Prairie Home Hospice House in Marshall after a brief illness.  He is survived by his wife Joanne of Rural Marshall, children Roberta “Robbie” (and Bill) Mahal of Houston, TX, Cynthia “Cindy” (and Tom) Newton of Savannah, GA, Joel (and Nancy) VandePutte of Marshall, grandchildren Melissa (and Matt) McMemeny, Brandon Mahal, Holly (and Shadi) Al-Khalil, Nicolaus, Jordan and Colin, great-grandchildren Braeden and Luke Robert, siblings Helen Vandendriessche, Jane Wegman, Joan Rickman, Donna Brewers and Jim VandePutte, sister-in-law Mary VandePutte of Tracy, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Lester and Don.

A graveside service for Von Buesing, 85, of Rogers MN, formerly of the Balaton/Tracy area, will be held on Saturday, October 30 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Calvary Cemetery, Tracy MN. Fellowship will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Hall in Tracy.
