Jeannette A. Holm, 82
Jeannette A. “Netter” Holm age
82 of Tracy, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at St. John’s Lutheran Home
in Springfield. Funeral services were held Friday, October 29, 2010 at
Zion Lutheran Church in Tracy. A
private family burial will be held in the Tracy City Cemetery at a later
date. Online condolences may be sent at www.tracyareafuneralhome.com. The Tracy Area Funeral
Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jeannette A. Holm was born
August 15, 1928 in Tracy, Minnesota to Andrew and Nona (Schmidt) Nelson.
She was baptized September, 1928 in the Methodist faith and became a member of
Tracy Lutheran Church in 1946. Netter graduated from Tracy High School in
1946 and from Tommy Brights School of Floral Design in Chicago in 1947.
She returned to Tracy and worked at Tracy Floral with her mother.
Netter was united in marriage
to Bernie Holm on February 8, 1947 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Richmond,
California while he was in the service, and when Bernie returned, he joined the
floral business. They bought the business in 1960 and sold it in 1995.
Netter was a member of Faith Lutheran and later Zion Lutheran Church. She
raised Lhasa Apso dogs. Netter enjoyed her yard, watching the birds, and
the summer flowers. She loved playing cards and played in “500”
clubs. She also enjoyed quilting with the ladies of the church, camping,
traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially
shopping with her daughter. Netter entered Prairieview Healthcare Center
in 2006 and in October, 2008 she moved into St. John’s Lutheran Home in Springfield.
Netter is survived by her
husband Bernie of 63 years; daughter Marsha (Doug) Zisler of Lakeville; son
Michael (Jeannie) Holm of Jordan; grandchildren: Matt (Rachel) Zisler, Brett
(Lindsey) Zisler, Tami Decker, Mark (Tammy) Holm, Aaron Holm, and Danielle
Holm; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Doris Kitterman of Lincoln, NE; and many
other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, son
Bradley, brother Strann Nelson, and brother-in-law Lowell Kitterman.
Cheryl Towne, 54
Cheryl Towne age 54 of
Marshall, MN died at her home on Thursday, October 21, 2010 in Marshall. A
private family service was held Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Almlie
Funeral Home in Tracy. Interment was in the Lakeside Cemetery in Balaton, MN.
The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handled the arrangements.
Cheryl Ann Towne was born May
28, 1956 to Darwin and Betty (Mumby) Towne in Tyler, MN, Lincoln County. She
was baptized and confirmed in the Garvin Congregational Church in Garvin, MN
and attended Tracy Public Schools, graduating from Tracy High School in 1974.
She made her home in San
Diego, CA for ten years, and was a housewife, mother and had worked as a
nurse’s aid. Cheryl then returned to Minnesota and made her home in Marshall,
MN.
Cheryl was a member of the
Methodist Church in Marshall, and was involved in the Ladies Aid. Her family
will always remember her great sense of humor, her generosity and her
possessing a “heart of gold”. Cheryl loved cats, and watching WWF wrestling and
boxing.
On Thursday, October 21,
Cheryl died in Marshall, MN at the age of 54.
Cheryl is survived by her
mother, Betty Towne of Garvin, MN; one son, Ramon “Bucky” Towne of San Diego,
CA; one grandson and one granddaughter of San Diego, CA; two sisters, Roxanne
(Ahmed) Nuhaily of San Diego, CA, and Karen (David) Voth of Mankato, MN; three
brothers, Gary (special friend, Terri Kirst) Towne of Balaton, MN, Jeffrey
(Jenny) Towne and Darwin (Sheri) Towne, both of Garvin, MN; seventeen nieces
and nephews; six great nieces and nephews; one aunt, Darlene; uncle and aunt,
Robert (Nick) Mumby of Arlington, SD; many other relatives and friends.
Her grandparents, father,
Darwin Towne, and uncle, Ronald Mumby preceded him in death.
