Arleen Chambers, 92
Arleen G. Chambers, age 92, of
Tracy passed away peacefully Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Prairie View
Healthcare Center in Tracy. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, August 27 at the Tracy Area Funeral Home. Visitation will be
one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Inurnment is in Tracy
Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com. Stephens Funeral
Service - Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Arleen Gertrude Chambers was
born December 20, 1918 in Lamberton, Minnesota to Ernest and Gertrude (Werner)
Kircher. Arlene and Jack Chambers were married March 21, 1943, and were
blessed with Twyla in 1947. Twyla passed away December 15, 1986, and Jack
in 1988. Arleen’s life is celebrated by living as she did, with dignity,
compassion, joy, gratitude, and faith.
Arleen is survived by her
grandsons: Paul (Lori) Anderson of Rapid City, SD, Michael (Angie) Anderson of
Bruce, SD, and Tom “Chopper” (Christy) Anderson of Rapid City, SD; great
grandchildren: Michael and Andrew, Ronnie, Josh, and Sara; son-in-law Jim
(Eloyse Wade) Anderson; brother Orvie Kircher; and many cousins nieces, and
nephews.
Virginia Fetter, 88
Virginia
Fetter 88 of Phoenix, AZ passed away on August 21, 2011. Memorial services will be on Friday,
September 2, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the IHM Church in Currie, MN. Interment is at Tracy City Cemetery,
Tracy, MN. Totzke Funeral Home of
Slayton in charge of arrangements.
Virginia
P. Fetter was born March 2, 1923 and was raised on a farm in Currie, MN with
her ten siblings. She graduated
from Tracy High School in 1941 and worked in a defense plant in California
until her marriage to Loren Fetter on April 29, 1944.
She
and Loren were active in Tracy community groups until their move to Scottsdale,
Arizona in 1963. Virginia retired
from the Arizona Air National Guard in 1985.
She
is survived by three children, Jacqueline (Gary) Ruppert of Currie, MN, Joey
(William) Ridenour of Paradise Valley, AZ and Steven (Sheree) Fetter of
Gilbert, AZ; sister, Betty Kass and brother, Donald LeClaire; 12 grandchildren
and 28 great grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, Loren Fetter, her parents, Henry Alfred
and Elizabeth LeClaire and brothers and sisters; Odell Myhro, Henry LeClaire, Lucretia Anderson,
Dwaine LeClaire, Rosemarie Ruppert Hansen, Vernon LeClaire and James LeClaire.
In

of Arizona Foundation/Arizona Cancer Center, 1515 N. Campbell Avenue, Tucson,

Donald Friend, 93
Mass of Christian Burial for
Donald “Don” Friend, 93, of Marshall, will be held on Saturday, August 27,
2011, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Interment will follow the service at
Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall. Military honors provided by U.S. American Legion Post 113 of Marshall.
Donald Dale Friend was born on
February 8, 1918, in Marshall, to Erving and Myrtle (Ohde) Friend. Don served in the U.S. Army during
World War II in the European Theater. On June 9, 1946, he was united in marriage to Margaret Pilotte. For 25 years, he owned and operated the
Sportsman’s Bar and Grill in Walnut Grove. He later worked for the Marshall Public Schools, retiring in
1982. Don enjoyed playing cards,
pool, fishing, visiting with friends and family, especially his grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. He was a
23 year volunteer for the Walnut Grove Fire Department and belonged to the VFW,
Eagles’ Club and was a 59 year
member of the American Legion Post 113 of Marshall.
Don died on Sunday, August 14,
2011, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. He is survived by his wife, Margaret,
of Marshall, son Joseph (and Donna) of Billings, MT, daughter Marilyn (and
Jerry) Morhain of Sedalia, MO, daughter Barbara (and Keith) Rupp of Lincoln,
NE, grandchildren Cyndi (and Doug) Kay, Michelle Friend, Charlie (and Joy)
Friend, Mike (and Angela) Anderson, Dean (and Stephanie) Anderson, Angela (and
John) Carns, Jennifer (and Greg) Nitzel, Joseph Rupp, 14 great-grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Brian Friend.

Lourdes, Nuese, 93
Mass of Christian Burial for
Lourdes Nuese, 93, of Marshall, was held on Friday, August 19, 2011, at Holy
Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Interment followed the service at Calvary
Catholic Cemetery in Marshall. Military honors provided by U.S. American Legion Post 113 in Marshall.
Lourdes Francis Nuese was born
on December 25, 1917, on a farm in Hendricks Township in Lincoln County, MN, to
Frank and Alexina (Pillotte) Nuese. As a young child, he moved with his family to Marshall where he attended
school and graduated from Marshall High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II working as a
mechanic in Alaska and Oklahoma.
In 1943, he was united in
marriage to Florence Cooper at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. After his service, he returned to
Marshall. He worked as a mechanic
and shop foreman for O’Connell Motors. In the 1950s, he began working with auto sales for O’Connells and later
for Antons, Tholens, and Marshall Auto Salvage. Lourdes enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, metal work,
boats, motor cycles, old cars and guns. He also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family,
especially his grandchildren. His favorite question for his grandchildren was “How’s your
gizzard?” Lourdes was a member of
the American Legion Post 113, and the Knights of Columbus.
He died on Friday, August 12,
2011, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall.
He is survived by his wife,
Florence, of Marshall, and children David (and Patsy) of Marshall, Kathryn (and
Henry) Moore of Ellicott City, MD, Dennis (and Peggy) of Marshall, Duane (and
Janet) of Marshall, 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brother Terrance
of Marshall, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister,
and a sister, Sister Candace of the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
