Glenda Ball, 51

Funeral service for Glenda Ball, 51, of Windom, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota.  Visitation will be from 6 - 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Rehkamp – Horvath Funeral Home in Minneota.  Visitation will continue on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be at Alta Vista Cemetery in Minneota.

Glenda Marie Prellwitz Bottelberghe Ball was born to Leslie and Marilyn Prellwitz in Canby, MN on November 22, 1959.  She graduated from Minneota High School.  Glenda then married Michael Bottelberghe on September 16, 1978.  They had three children; Tessa, Ryan, and Adam Bottelberghe.  They lived near Minneota for a few years then settled near Walnut Grove from 1982 – 2000.  She moved around for about 7 years then she lived in South Carolina, where she met and then married Bobby Ball on December 20, 2008.  In 2009, Glenda and Bobby moved back to Minnesota.  Growing up, Glenda enjoyed horseback riding with her siblings, cousins, and neighbors.  She loved horses, playing cards until wee hours of the morning, the outdoors, roses, sunsets, the night sky, taking “Pugs” her dog on car rides, watching wrestling with her grandsons, and playing dress up with her granddaughters.  Family was very important to her.

Glenda passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Windom Hospital in Windom, Minnesota. 

She is survived by her husband Bobby of Fairmont; children Tessa (Jake Bradtke) Bottelberghe of Redwood Falls, Ryan (Karla) Bottelberghe of Vesta, and Adam (Stacey) Bottelberghe of Jeffers; siblings Dixie Schlaak of Anoka, Randy (D.J.) Prellwitz of Minneota, Julie (Jay) Schlecht of Easley, SC, Pam Citterman of Minneota; and grandchildren Nicholas, Harley, Katie, Kelly, Ty, Mary Jo, and Jamie. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Evelyn Butson, 93

Evelyn Thorson Butson was born on June 6, 1918 in Tripoli, IA to Theodore and Ava (Glesne) Thorson.  The family moved to Waverly, IA where her brother Burton (Burt) was born.  In 1924, the family relocated to the Glesne Farm near St. Olaf, IA where Evelyn spent her childhood.  Evelyn attended Waldorf Academy in Forest City, IA her first two years of high school.  Following her graduation from Elkader High School, Evelyn attended Elkader Junior College and Iowa State University. She graduated from Iowa State with a degree in Home Economics, and taught at Ruthven, IA, Dows, IA, and Morris, MN schools.

Sometime later, she taught courses in clothing and nutrition at Gustavus Adolphus College. As farms throughout Minnesota began to get electricity, Evelyn worked with the Rural Electrical Association co-op teaching people how to use electric stoves and washing machines. While working for the REA in Elk River, Evelyn met her husband Vernon. The two were married in 1953 and made their home in Albert Lea, MN, later moving to Tracy, MN where they raised their children, Mary, Gregory, Lynn, and Alan.  In 1976, the family moved to Fergus Falls, MN, and to Baby Lake near Hackensack, MN in 1982. Evelyn and Vernon moved to Baxter, MN in 2001.

Wherever Evelyn lived, she was an active member in the Lutheran church.  She loved singing and studying the bible.  Evelyn was an avid reader and also enjoyed sewing.

Evelyn died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Edgewood Vista in Brainerd, MN at the age of 93. 

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Ava and by her brother Burton. 

She is survived by Vernon her husband of 58 years; daughter, Mary (Craig) Loving of Denver, CO; son, Gregory of Lewisville, TX; daughter, Lynn Butson, of Las Vegas, NV; son, Alan (Chris), of Carson City, NV; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Evelyn is also survived by numerous friends and relatives.

Funeral Services were held  Friday, October 21, 2011 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter.  Interment was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley.
