Betty Horner, 84
Betty Jane Horner, age 84 of
Rochester passed away on February 1, 2011 at Madonna Towers Nursing Care.
Betty Jane Stafford was born
on July 3, 1926 in Sorum, South Dakota to Frank and Ellen Stafford. Betty lived
in Sorum, SD until 1938, when her family moved to Tracy, MN. She graduated from
Tracy High School in 1944. On December 31, 1945, she married Harold Horner in
Tracy, MN. In 1956, they moved to
Lanesboro, MN, where they owned and operated a dry-cleaning establishment,
Harold’s Cleaners.
In 1971, the couple moved to
Rochester, where Betty worked as the buyer and manager for the Children’s
Department of Massey’s Department Store. She later worked in the Medical
Library at Mayo Clinic until her retirement.
She was well known for her
sense of humor, and enjoyed her Saturday morning coffee-time with friends.
She is survived by her
children: Betty (Jerry) Lobland of Rochester, Bruce (Laurinda) Horner of Inver
Grove Heights, MN, Rich (Pam) Horner of Eyota, seven grandchildren and sixteen
great-grandchildren. She is
preceded by her husband Harold, three brothers, and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held
on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 11:00AM at Church of The Savior (971 16th Street SE Rochester) with Pastor Shirley Heeg officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior
to services at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Devedah Maranell, 83
Devedah Maranell age 83,
formerly of Tracy, MN died Sunday, February 06, 2011 at the Bethesda Heritage
Nursing Home in Willmar, MN. Services will be 1:30 PM Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Almlie
Funeral Home in Tracy, MN. Visitation
will be on Thursday also, from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:30 PM at
the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy. Interment will be in the Tracy City Cemetery in the spring of 2011. A catered luncheon will be served
immediately following the service at the funeral home. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is
handling the arrangements.

Devedah Ruth Maranell was born
March 3, 1927 to Just and Mabel (Andersen) Petersen in Wakonda, SD. She was baptized and confirmed in the
Christian faith and graduated in 1946 from High School in Irene, SD.
On September 1, 1947 Devedah
married Darrell P. Maranell in Vermillion, SD. Over the years they made their home in various communities
in South Dakota, Wisconsin and Minnesota. She came to call Tracy, MN home as she and her husband retired there in
the early 1980’s. She moved to an
apartment high-rise in Minneapolis, MN for a year, before becoming a resident
of the Bethesda Heritage Care Facility in Willmar, MN.
Through the years, Devedah
worked outside the home in various jobs. She was most proud of her job at Control Data in Cambridge, MN, where
she helped manufacture rocket parts that made the first moon landing in
1969. While a part of the Tracy
Community she was employed as a librarian at the Tracy Library, worked in the
office at Tracy High School, and served as a member of the Tracy City Cemetery
Board for many years. Although she was an active person, she took great pride
also as a homemaker, wife and mother.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening,
arts and crafts, traveling, cooking, and will be remembered as an excellent
baker. She was also an
accomplished artist, who always had a pet or two around the house, and loved spending
time with her children and their families.

Devedah died at the Bethesda Heritage Care Facility in Willmar at the age of
83.
Devedah is survived by her
four sons, Darwin (Judy) Maranell of Balaton, MN, Doyle (Pamela) Maranell of
Litchfield, MN, DeVaughn Maranell of Isanti, MN, and Darren (Debrah) Maranell
of Waseca, MN; three daughters, Rechelle (Stephen) Titrud of Willmar, MN,
Rosalie (Richard) Haberman of Verndale, MN, and Devedah (Troy) Iverson of
Atwater, MN; twenty four grandchildren; many great grandchildren; nieces,
nephews and friends.
Her husband, Darrell, parents,
daughter, Renee, infant twin sons, infant triplets, one sister, Delilah (Ludey)
Williams, and one brother, Dewayne preceded her in death.

of Tracy, MN died Sunday, February 06, 2011 at the Prairie View Healthcare
Center in Tracy. Services will be
11:00 AM Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Garvin Congregational Church in
Garvin, MN. Visitation will be
from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at the Almlie Funeral Home
in Tracy. Interment will be in the
Bethel Cemetery in the spring of 2011. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service at the
church. The Almlie Funeral Home of
Tracy is handling the arrangements.
The family requests memorials
be given to either the Parkinsons Foundation of Minnesota or the Prairie Home
Hospice in Marshall, MN in lieu of flowers.

Glennis Dale Staufacker was
born January 21, 1925 to Chris and Mattie (Blumeyer) Staufacker on a farm near
George, IA. He was baptized and
confirmed in the Lyon County First Presbyterian Church, rural George and
attended country school. As a
young man he worked with his father on the farm before being drafted into the
U.S. Army in 1945. As he was
shipped out over seas in the Pacific, the war came to a close, he was returned
to the states and received his honorable discharge in 1946. He then returned to the family farm in
Iowa.
On June 3, 1947 Glennis
married Lois Fry at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church near George, IA and they
made their home on a farm in the George and Everly, IA area. In 1968 they moved to a farm near
Garvin, MN, where they remained until his retirement in 1989, when they moved
into Tracy, MN. In 2003 he became
a resident of the Tracy Nursing Home and later the Prairie View Healthcare
Center in Tracy.
Glennis was a farmer his whole
life but his community, church and family were all very important to him. He was a member of the Garvin
Congregational Church, where he served as Trustee and also sang in the
choir. He was also a member of the
Garvin American Legion and Tracy Lions Club. Glennis drove school bus for over 16 years for the Tracy
School District and was also a hospital courier for several area hospitals,
including Tracy and Westbrook, for many years.
He liked to fish, collected
farm toys and caps, gardening, square dancing, and camping with family and
close friends, Don and Anna Gene Burke. Glennis, his wife and the Burke’s enjoyed many trips and “Happy Hours”
over the years. He and Lois also
liked to travel, taking many trips, such as a memorable trip to Germany, but
his great love was spending time with his grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his
special days with them, from Easter egg hunts to fun gifts on the holidays.

Glennis died, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 86.
Glennis is survived by his
wife, Lois Staufacker of Tracy, MN; two sons, Steven (Pauline) Staufacker of
Rapid City, SD and Craig (Mary) Staufacker of Garvin, MN; three daughters,
Kristi (Ron) Krause of Lake Benton, MN, Janine (Steve) Albrecht of Maplewood,
MN and Kerry (Chris) Harrelson of Columbia, SC; thirteen grandchildren;
thirteen great grandchildren; one brother, Ivan Staufacker of George, IA; one
sister, Earlene Schroder of Sheldon, IA; one brother-in-law, Wayne Fry of San
Francisco, CA; nieces, nephews and many friends.
His parents, one sister-in-law,
Irene Staufacker, one brother-in-law, Vernon Schroder proceded him in
death.
