Marguerite Christensen, 95

Marguerite Eleanor Christensen age 95 of Dovray passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Westbrook Good Samaritan while surrounded by family.  Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 15 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dovray.  Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church.  Private family burial will be held in Westbrook Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent via www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service - Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Marguerite Eleanor Christensen was born September 19, 1916 in Sac City, Iowa to Ray and Malo Norton.   Marguerite attended Murray County School and Minnesota School for the Blind in Faribault. 

On November 12, 1938 she was united in marriage to Willie Larson.  He died in 1939.  Marguerite married Harris Christensen on May 25, 1940 in Sibley, Iowa.  They farmed in the Dovray area for 6-7 years and then moved to Cottonwood.  They moved back to Dovray March 1, 1950 where they ran the Log Cabin Café and then started Dovray Manor with their son Bob and wife Marlene.  Harris died in 1972.  Marguerite continued to live in Dovray. 

In 1986, she married Wilferd Einertson at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dovray.  The Westbrook Good Samaritan Care Center, where she worked as a cook, was very important to her.  She became a resident there on September 4, 2007.

Marguerite is survived by her children: Robert (Marlene) Christensen of New London, Sheila (Robert) Leonard of Dovray, Malo Scotting of Rockford and former husband Wayne of Buffalo, and Alva Bondhus of Jackson and former husband Jon of Heron Lake; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; siblings: Kathryn Cole of Westbrook, Esther Gay (Ray) Metz of Slayton, Iris (Jerry) Klein of Slayton, and Raymond (Juanita) Norton of California; sisters-in-law Bernice Pulcher and Marilyn Norton both of California; and many other relatives and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Willie, Harris, and Wilferd, sisters Gwen and Lanell, and brothers Glade and Max “Buck”.

 

Marjorie Kor, 71

Marjorie E. Kor age 71 of Tracy, MN died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Sanford-Sioux Valley Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Tracy Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and continuing one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.  Interment will be in the Tracy City Cemetery, with a luncheon served immediately afterwards in the church social hall.  The Almlie Family Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.

Marjorie Esther Kor was born August 2, 1940 to William and Ethel (Vos) Buysman in Chandler, MN, Murray County.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith.  While still a young child her family moved to Elkton, MN, where she attended Elkton Public Schools.  In 1957 her family moved to Tracy, MN and Marjorie graduated from Tracy High School in 1958.

On June 21, 1958 Marjorie married Gerald T. Kor in the Presbyterian Church in Tracy.  They made their home on a farm south of Tracy until 1973 when they moved to Amiret, MN.  Over the years Marjorie worked cleaning homes, the bank in Tracy and the Post Office in Amiret.  She also worked at Midwest Supply in Tracy for a short time.  All this while, she is remembered as a great housewife and mother to six children.

She was a member of the Tracy Lutheran Church and was very active in Circle, Bible Study, and Do-Days at the church. She enjoyed Birds, Antiquing, Gardening, both flower and vegetable, and quilting with the ladies at church, but it was time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren that she loved the most.

On Saturday, April 7, 2012 Marjorie died, surrounded by her loving family, at the Sanford-Sioux Valley Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 71.

Marjorie is lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Tacy (Loren) Knoblauch of Tracy, MN, Lynn (Tom) Pauly of Chanhassen, MN, and Marcy (fiancé, Don Elhard) Fedde of Grand Island, NE; two sons, Dennis (Nadine) Kor of Minneota, MN and Dale (Amy) Kor of Sebeka, MN; ten grandchildren, Rory, Jill, Kayla, Lindsey, A. J., Collin, Seth, Kirsten, Ashley and Riley; five great grandchildren, Braeleigh, Evangelina, Diamon, Jaxson, and Summer; one brother, Doug (Cindy) Buysman of Redmond, OR; three sisters, Ruth (Ronnie) Miller of Byron, MN, Eunice (Jerry) Roberts of Molalla, OR, and Joan Frederickson of Downey, CA; one brother-in-law, Henry (Bonnie) Kor of Mitchell, SD; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Her husband, Gerald, her parents, William and Ethel, son, Steve, grandson, Harlan, and one brother-in-law, Allen Frederickson, preceded her in death.

The family requests that memorials be given to either the American Cancer Society or the Ronald McDonald House.

Allen Luckhardt, 66

 

Allen L. Luckhardt age 66 of Sioux Falls, SD, formerly of Balaton, MN, died Monday, April 2, 2012 in Madison, SD.  Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Balaton.  Interment was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Balaton.

Allen Lee Luckhardt was born October 27, 1945 to Roy and Edith (Segfried) Luckhardt in Springfield, MN, Brown County.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended country school.  While a young boy his family moved to a farm near Vesta, MN and then later into Marshall, MN.

As a young man Allen moved to Colorado Springs, CO and worked as a bartender and as a newspaper deliverer.  He moved back to Minnesota in the late 1980’s and opened Al’s Bar & Grill in Garvin, MN.  He also opened Al’s Bar in Balaton, MN in the late 1990’s until 2005.  That year he moved to Sioux Falls, SD and went to work for Priority Express as a delivery driver and that company later became On Trac Delivery Service whom he currently worked for.

Al was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan.  He enjoyed all sports, especially golf, softball, and bowling, playing pool and cards and loved following NASCAR.  Al’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

On Monday, April 2, 2012 Al died, as a result of an automobile accident in Madison, SD, at the age of 66.

Al is lovingly remembered and survived by his two sisters, LuAnn (Dale) Anderson of Balaton, MN and Deborah Schoenbauer of McGregor, MN; two brothers, Greg (Jody) Luckhardt and Dave (Dyanne) Luckhardt both of Balaton, MN; sister-in-law, Peggy Luckhardt of New Ulm, MN; his best friend, Charlie VerMeer of Sioux Falls, SD; many nieces, nephews and friends.

His parents, Roy and Edith, one brother, John “Jack” (Barb) Luckhardt, one nephew, Scott Bordwell and one great nephew, Kassin Danielson preceded him in death.

Eileen Trei, 76

 

Eileen Cecelia (DeBlieck) Trei, 76, Moorhead, MN died Tuesday in her home under the care of Hospice and surrounded by her family.

Eileen is survived by her husband, Wendell Trei; mother, Ethel Edwards DeBlieck; children, Debra (Bill) Post, Denise (John) DeLanghe, James, Jeffery, Donna (Todd) Morse, Michael (Sonja), and Marc (Pia); 22 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by daughter, Dianne (Marv) Lindberg; son, Jon; grandson, Jeremiah; her father, William; and three brothers.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 6, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., Valley Christian Church in Moorhead.  Interment was Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Tracy MN.
