Charles Williams, 88
Charles E.
“Chuck” Williams, age 88, of Tracy passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the
Golden Living Center in Slayton. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:30
p.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy. Visitation is one
hour prior to services at the church. Interment is in Tracy City

Charles Edward
Williams was born February 4, 1924 in Lisbon, ND to Ernest and Grace
Williams. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith.
Chuck graduated from Lisbon High School in 1942. He enlisted in the
US Navy in 1942 and served as Gunners Mate LST in the South Pacific during
WWII. Chuck was honorably discharged in 1945 and returned to St. Paul.
He graduated from the University of Minnesota for Agriculture in 1950,
receiving a bachelor’s degree in Animal Husbandry.
On June 21, 1947
Chuck was united in marriage to Edna Mickelson in Lisbon. They had five
children. Chuck worked as a cattle buyer. He bought and operated
the East Side Convenience Store in 1970 and later purchased the West Side
Store. Edna passed away in 1979. Chuck married Nancy Naumann on
October 22, 1983, and the couple continued living in Tracy.
Chuck was a
member of the Eagles Club, where he was a charter member, the Tracy American
Legion and VFW, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed the outdoors,
hunting and fishing in his younger years, as well as going dancing. Chuck
loved reading, watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, and
talking with and socializing with people.
Chuck is survived by his wife
Nancy; children: Steven Williams of Chicago, IL, Cheri Camp of Belfast, ME,
Brett (Ranell) Williams of Park Rapids, Jane (Randy) Swanson of Cannon Falls,
and Jody Williams of Los Angeles, CA; stepchildren: Tammara Schons of Tracy and
Pamela (Kendal) Cooreman of Tracy; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren;
and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his
parents, wife Edna, brothers Russell and Hubert, and sisters Lucille and
Bessann.
Leah Zwach, 93
Funeral services will be held
11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Milroy
for Leah Rose Zwach, age 93 of Milroy. Interment will be in St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery south of
Milroy. The Sunset Funeral
& Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso are handling the arrangements.

Leah Rose Zwach was born on
May 6, 1918 to Henry and Josephine (Starken) Gorres on the family farm SE of
Wanda, Minnesota in Redwood County, Willow Lake Township. She attended Wanda Public School and
was baptized and confirmed at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Wanda.
On January 27, 1941, Leah
married Henry Zwach at the St. Mathias Catholic church in Wanda. They then moved to a farm south of
Milroy where they made their home until retiring in 1979 and moving into
Milroy. She was a member of St.
Michael’s Catholic Church in Milroy and was active in Circle One of the
CCW. She also was involved with
the Senior Center in Milroy and the Birthday Club. After Henry’s death in 1984, she remained at home until 1998
when she moved to Tracy in the O’Brien Court. In 1999, she moved to the Boulder Estates in Marshall and in
2000 she moved to the Tracy Nursing Home and then To Prairie View Nursing Home
in Tracy until her passing.
Leah enjoyed gardening,
flowers, embroidery, sewing, puzzles, loved to cook, especially baking cakes, bowling,
dancing and traveling. She liked
to go to the Dairy Queen for strawberry sundaes and going to A&W to buy
root beer to make her children root beer floats. She loved to laugh and tell jokes but could sometimes be a
little feisty. She will be dearly
missed by her loving family.
On Sunday, April 22, 2012 Leah passed away at the
Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy at the age of 93.
Leah is survived by her five
children, Diane (Dennis) Sweely of Brownton, MN, Carol (Allen) Schmidt of
Marshall, MN, Judy (Dennis) Ozmun of Minneota, MN, Joseph Zwach of Walnut
Grove, MN and Joni (Michael) Baune of Vesta, MN; 17 grandchildren, 29 great
grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Joyce Gorres,
Doris Zwach, Bernice Zwach and Carol Kesteloot.
Her parents, husband Henry,
brothers, Clarence, Clifford, Leonard, Milton and Victor, sister Agnes Zollner
and infant sister Victoria preceded her in death.
