Cedric Christensen, 68

 

Mass of Christian Burial for Cedric Christensen, 68, of Milroy, were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Milroy.  Interment followed the service at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Milroy.  Military honors provided by U.S. American Legion Post 274 of Milroy, MN.

Cedric Peter Christensen was born on May 29, 1945, in Marshall, to Clifford “Farmer” and Julia (Hoflock) Christensen.  Cedric grew up in Milroy and graduated from Milroy High School. 

On November 21, 1964, he was united in marriage to Patty Will at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Walnut Grove.  The couple made their home and raised their family on a farm north of Milroy.  Cedric served in the U.S. National Guard, the Milroy Creamery Board, Milroy Elevator Board, and the American Legion Post 274.  He enjoyed being with grandchildren, deer hunting in northern Minnesota with his family.  He also enjoyed traveling and farming.

Cedric died on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall.  He is survived by his wife, Patty, of Milroy, son Jeff (and Rhonda) of Sioux Falls, son Tim (and Kris) of Milroy, grandchildren Beth, Jacob, Colben and Kyle, sister Alice (and Steve) Walters of Sleepy Eye, brother Bob Christensen of Wayland, MI, brother Dan (and Darla) Christensen of Milroy, several nieces and nephews, and by his mother-in-law, Tudy Will. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law.
