Albert Dalle, 79

 

Mass of Christian Burial for Albert Dalle, 79, of Tracy, will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.  Interment will take place in Granberry, TX, at a later date.

Albert Julius Dalle was born on August 3, 1935, in Rural Marshall, to Gaston and Anna (Sinave) Dalle.  He grew up on the family farm. 

In September of 1958, he was united in marriage to Helene Poulos at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Ghent.  The couple lived in a variety of communities before settling on a farm south of Marshall.  Albert was a hard worker.  In addition to farming he worked at other jobs including many years for Doom & Cuypers construction.  After retirement, the couple moved to Weatherford, TX.  After Helene’s death, Albert returned to Tracy. 

In January, 2010, he was united in marriage to Irene Bakker.  Irene died in May, 2013. 

Albert enjoyed gardening, farming and John Deere equipment.  He also enjoyed reading, especially Readers Digest, Catholic Digest and National Geographic.  He was most passionate about his family and was a devout Catholic.

Albert died on Monday, December 08, 2014, under the care of hospice at his son’s residence in Raymond. 

He is survived by his children John (and Lupe) Dalle of Marshall, Loretta (and Gene) Ivy of Austin, TX, Geri (and Dale) Johnson of Lakeville, Roger Dalle of Marshall, David Dalle of Marshall, Cheryl (and Kevin) DeJaeghere of Sioux Falls, Denise (and Greg) Poskas of Elko, Gloria Poulos of Mankato, Regina (and Dan) Casper of Great Bend, KS, Greg (and Michelle) Dalle of Raymond, 17 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brothers Andrew, Oscar and LeMonde, sisters Bertha Bottelberghe, Maggie Maserek and Leona McDougall, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Helen and Irene, daughters Rita and Mary, and son Gerard.

Earl Engesser, 96

 

Earl Joseph Engesser age 96 of Tracy passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Prairie View Senior Living.  Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 10 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tracy.  Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church.  Burial is in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service - Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Earl Joseph Engesser was born April 26, 1918 to P.W. and Pearl (Olson) Engesser in Garvin, Minnesota.  He worked in a garage in Garvin with his father until he enlisted in the Army on February 26, 1942.  Earl served in the Italian and Sicilian actions.  He received the Purple Heart and two Bronze Campaign stars.  Earl also served in the African Theatre and was honorably discharged on October 17, 1945.  Earl lived at home with his parents until he moved to Tracy in 1951. 

Earl and Elizabeth Ann Byrne were married on August 6, 1951 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  The couple had three children.  He joined the Tracy Fire Department in 1952 and retired in 1973.  Earl served as chief for two years.  He worked for Vern Hemmingson as an auto mechanic for six years, for Ruthenbeck for three years, and for Dick Whiting in his ready mix plant for six years.  Earl also worked for District 417 as a school bus driver and bus mechanic, for Tri-County, and the city of Tracy as custodian of the municipal building for 16 years until his retirement.  He was a member of the Tracy VFW and American Legion.  Earl enjoyed riding motorcycles, rollerskating, camping, dancing, and country and 50’s music.  He loved spending time with his family and going to county fairs. 

Earl is survived by his wife Betty of Tracy; children: Denise (Joseph) Chavez of Grants, NM, Dennis (Paula) of Worthington, and Darcy Jo (Benton) Johnson of Marshall; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren with two due in 2015; brother Gerald “Jerry” Engesser of Tracy; sisters Verna Swift and Shirley Martin both of Balaton; sister in law Betty Engesser of Tracy and many other relatives and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Harold “Whitey”, sister Vesta Almhjeld, and brothers-in-law John Martin, Raymond Swift, and Clayton Almhjeld. 

 

Gerald Jaycox, 84

 

Memorial service for Gerald Jaycox, age 84, of Pipestone, Minnesota were held Tuesday, December 9, at Peace United Methodist Church in Pipestone.  Interment was at New Woodlawn Cemetery in Pipestone.  On-line registry may be found at www.hartquistfuneral.com.

Gerald Everette Jaycox was born July 13, 1930 to Everette and Myrtle (Eikmeier) Jaycox in Flandreau, SD.  He attended and graduated from Egan High School in 1948.  In 1951, he was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany. 

Gerald was united in marriage to Gwen (Leuning) Jaycox on April 7, 1960 at Logan Reformed Church in Dell Rapids, Iowa.  Their union was blessed with three children and 54 years of marriage together.  He entered into the Good Samaritan Community of Pipestone on July 10, 2014.  He died there, going home to his Lord, on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the age of 84 years.

Gerald is lovingly remembered by his wife, Gwen Jaycox of Pipestone, Minnesota; his three children, Dean (and Tracy) Jaycox of Pipestone, Minnesota, Douglas Jaycox of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Diane (and Ivan) VanEssen of Tracy, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everette and Myrtle; and his brother, Eugene (and Yvonne) Jaycox.

 

Jack Parker, 73

Funeral services for Jack Parker, 73, of Walnut Grove, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2014, at the Tracy Alliance Church.  Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Almlie-Horvath Funeral Home in Tracy.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Friday.  Military Honors conducted by the U.S. American Legion Post of Walnut Grove.

Jack Dwayne Parker was born on April 22, 1941, in Worthington, MN, to Daryl and Ilene (Rogers) Parker.  He grew up in Worthington and Balaton.  At age 17, Jack enlisted and served in the U.S. Marine Corp.  While stationed in California, Jack was united in marriage to Ruth Eastman.  After his discharge, he worked at various jobs in California, including many years as a purchaser for the Fresno Unified School District.  After his retirement, he moved to Walnut Grove where he drove school bus for several years.  He enjoyed singing and participated in many ensembles including the Golden Note Chorus in California and the Men’s Chorus in Minnesota.  Many local children will remember Jack as Santa Claus, as he appeared in Walnut  Grove and Tracy for many years.

Jack died on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at his residence in Walnut Grove. 

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Walnut Grove, daughter Tamera (and Boo) McFarlin of Coalinga, CA, grandchildren Troy and McKenna McFarlin, and daughter Pamela (and Kimberly) Parker of Copperas Cove, TX, grandson Stephen, brothers Butch, Larry, Phillip and Tom, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Merv.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Jude’s Hospital.
