Eldora ‘Blondie’ Buchholz, 88

Memorial Service for Eldora J. Buchholz was held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Almlie-Horvath Funeral Home in Westbrook. Interment at Tracy City Cemetery.

Eldora Jeannette (Johnson) Buchholz, age 88 of Walnut Grove, passed away on April 9, 2015 in Tracy, MN.

Eldora was born on November 5, 1926 to John and Elma (Olson) Johnson on a farm five miles southwest of Tracy. She was baptized on November 21, 1926 at Hoiland Lutheran Church southwest of Tracy and confirmed on June 28, 1942 at Zion Lutheran Church in Tracy.

She attended Country School District 88 southwest of Tracy through 8th grade and then Tracy High School. Her senior year she went to Bethany Lutheran College and High School in Mankato. She finished her GED in 1996 at the age of 70.

On March 30, 1949 she married George Richard “Hans” Buchholz. They made their home in Tracy until 1980 when they moved to Westbrook. Eldora enjoyed spending time with family and friends, baking, working puzzles, and playing cards.

Eldora worked at Pifer Produce in Tracy for about a year and then Northwest Bell Telephone Co. as a telephone operator from June 28, 1946 to July 16, 1949. She was a proud member of the Westbrook VFW Auxiliary and the Westbrook Senior Citizen Center.

Eldora is survived by her three children, Paul (Paulette) Buchholz, Katherine (Gary) Phillips and George Jr. “Rick” (Kenni Ahonen) Buchholz; grandchildren, Michelle Phillips, Kelly Jo (Jon) Liljander, Paige (Andy) Spielman, Nicole (Chuck) Swanson, Jesse Buchholz and Eric Buchholz; great-grandchildren, Marissa Olson, Amaya Swanson, Zackary Swanson, Austin Buchholz, Alexis Buchholz, Brea Liljander, Aubriana Spielman, Addison Spielman and Brynley Spielman; sister, Viola Knott; and sister-in-law, Emiko Johnson and many other loving family friends

Preceded in death by her husband, George; brothers, Kenneth, Orvin, and Maurice Johnson; sisters, Myrtle Christensen, Ruth Prouty, and Vivian Rolland.

Theresa Ann Johnson age 72 of Tracy passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Prairie View Senior Living. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 11 at Tracy Lutheran Church. Theresa Ann Johnson was born March 23, 1943 in Tracy, Minnesota to Morris and Frances (Visker) Johnson. She worked as a truck driver in her younger years, and worked various jobs in several states. Theresa cooked at the Red Rooster in Tracy and at the Homestead in Wabasso. She then worked in laundry at Prairie View for many years until she retired due to health reasons. In her younger years she rode horses and competed in school rodeos. Theresa enjoyed doing puzzles, cooking, baking, country music, and dancing, particularly polka dancing. She loved visiting on the phone with her sisters, having company, and family gatherings. Theresa especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Theresa is survived by her children: Robert Bruss of Park Rapids, Tammy Halfmann of Wabasso, and Jeffrey Gregg of Sanborn; grandchildren: Jaclyn and Jessica Bruss; Kristine (Darren) Martius and Laura Halfmann; Scott, David, and Tiffany Gregg; great grandchildren: Tyler, Jordan, Amy, Angel, and Karson Martius, and Jamina and Malak Halfmann. She is also survived by her sibings: Jan Dunk of Tracy, Lauretta (Dale) Danielson of Tracy, Eunice (Rod) Behrends of Worthington, Clarise (Dallas) Norstegard of Tracy, Larry (Pam) Weinberg of Tracy, Keith (Jackie) Weinberg of Windom, Kay Paczkowski of Tracy, Karen (Randy) Peterson of Iona, and Debra (Greg) Daniels of Queen Creek, AZ; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Stacy Halfmann, and siblings: Dorothy McWhitter, Robert Johnson, Marlene Torkelson, Linda Johnson, and Kenny Weinberg.

Jerry grew up in Tracy, MN, graduated from Tracy High School in 1967, and from Pipestone Vocational School in 1969.

Hansen served honorably in the United States Army. He worked in Minneapolis for nearly 20 years and later relocated to Florida.

Services for Hansen were held on March 19, 2015 at the Bay Pines National Cemetery in Bay Pines, Fl

Jerry is survived by a daughter Jadene (Mike) Schmeck, Inverness, FL; and two sons, Rodney (Amy) Easley, SC and Jay, Spenser, IN and four grandchildren and a brother Jim ( Sue ) Hansen The Villages, FL.
