Jeffrey Ronald Hoffman was born April 13, 1954 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to Ronald and Colleen (Dietz) Hoffman.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Willow Lake Township.  Jeff graduated from Tracy High School in 1972.  On December 19, 1987 he married Kelly Nelson at Old Westbrook Lutheran Church.  Jeff worked various jobs until he began farming.  He worked as a surveyor for the City of Bloomington from 1986 until 1989.  They lived in Redwood Falls for a short time and Jeff worked for Marshall Truss.  They then moved to a farm north of Walnut Grove in 1989 where he farmed the rest of his life.  Jeff played pool and softball for many years in his younger days.  “Whitey” loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and trapping.  He especially enjoyed elk hunting in Colorado with his friends, bear and deer hunting up north, and fishing trips to Pierre and Chamberlain.  He really enjoyed his trips with Kelly and good friends to Alaska.  Jeff also enjoyed watching sports on TV.  He loved raising cattle, and visiting and joking with friends over coffee and drinks.

Jeff is survived by his wife Kelly; children Ryan and Lacey (Cody) Groebner, and his greatest blessing granddaughter Lily Jo and was so excited to welcome granddaughter #2 shortly.  Jeff is also survived by his father Ron Hoffman; brothers Scott (June) Hoffman, David (Lisa) Hoffman, and Gregg Hoffman; many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.  He is preceded in death by his mother Colleen and brother-in-law Tim Nelson.
