William “Bill” Pamp, 91

William “Bill” Henry Pamp of Tracy passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Prairie Home Hospice House in Marshall, Minnesota. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 24 at Tracy United Methodist Church. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery, Custer Township, rural Tracy. William H. Pamp was born April 25, 1923, in Huron, SD, to Carl and Elsie (Williams) Pamp. In 1937, his family moved to Minnesota to manage a farm west of Slayton.

Bill married Dorthey Evans on February 14, 1942, in Tracy. He and Dorthey then farmed near Slayton, but later moved to the Evans’ homestead where they farmed until he passed. The Evans’ homestead has been an active family farm since it was settled in 1868. During their early years, Bill and Dorthey were active square dancers. Bill started working for the Lyon County Soil Conservation Service in 1955 where he worked as a Soil Technician for 35 years. On the farm, Bill and Dorthey raised award winning Columbia sheep and Chester White hogs.

Bill was a life-long Master Mason and past master of Tracy Lodge #155 as well as a member of Scottish Rite, York Rite, Eastern Star, and Shrine. He was a 50-year member of Eastern Star and the Masons. Bill received the Masonic Hiram Award, which is a tribute to Brothers who devote themselves, their time, and their talents above and beyond the typical requirements of Freemasonry. Bill was an avid deer hunter and storyteller. He passed on his love of the land, pride in his animals, and his involvement in Masonry to his family.

Bill died on Friday, February 20, 2015, at the Prairie Home Hospice in Marshall, MN. He was 91-years-old.

Bill is survived by his wife, Dorthey, Tracy, MN; sister, Kathy John, Chicago, IL; son, Douglas (Melanie) Pamp, Garvin, MN; grandchildren: Carl Pamp, Jason Pamp, Benjamin Pamp, Sarah (David) Brakke; great grandchildren: Lana and Boden Pamp.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters, and son Charles Pamp.

Daryl Robinson, 85

Funeral services for Daryl Robinson, 85 of Tracy, were held at Lake Sarah Lutheran Church Garvin, MN at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015 with Rev. Drake Snell officiating. Special music by Luke Radke, Heath Radke. The honorary pallbearers were Denny Campbell, Bill Ziemke, Norbert Schmitz, Mike Holland, Bruce Frisvold, Mark Peterson, John Carlson, Jim Carlson, Mike Carlson, Loren Rykhus, Dale Rykhus, Mylan Larson and Bob Wendorff. Interment was at Modum Cemetery rural Slayton, MN.

Daryl Robinson, the son of Ernest and Fern (Hensley) Robinson, was born on March 6, 1929 in Spencer, SD. He grew up on the farm near Spencer until 1936, when the family moved to a farm near Garvin, MN. He attended school in Garvin and graduated from Tracy High School in 1947.

Daryl was united in marriage to Lois Ludwig on March 31, 1951 at the Lake Sarah Lutheran Church in Garvin. After their marriage they lived on a farm near Garvin. Farming was Daryl’s passion which he did all of his life until his retirement. He remained on the farm after Lois passed away in 2006. In 2013 he moved into Tracy but he continued to help his son-in-law, Doug on the farm.

Daryl passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 with his family at his side at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 85.

He was a member of Lake Sarah Lutheran Church in Garvin. Daryl was a member of the Red Rooster coffee club and the Tracy Lion’s Club. He was a volunteer driver for the Western Community Action of Marshall. Daryl enjoyed fishing, “BS”ing, gardening, telling stories and being outdoors. He truly loved taking care of his special four-legged friend “Marley” and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Jane (Jerry) Gregg of Marshall, MN, Mary Chelin of Tracy, MN, Dale Robinson of Currie, MN and Karen (Doug) Schmitz of Lake Shetek, MN; 9 grandchildren, Matthew Gregg, Tonya Gregg, Pat, Josh and Natasha Chelin, Brian Fortay and Brooklyn, Rachel and Courtney Schmitz; sister, Marilyn (Bill) Carlson of Tracy, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and 2 grandchildren, Eddie Gregg and Christina Gregg.

Marie Sanow, 92

Marie Sanow, age 92, of Tracy Minnesota, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Prairie View Senior Living Center in Tracy and was taken into the loving care of her lord and savior Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 27, 2015 at Tracy Lutheran Church in Tracy with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Marie was born June 18, 1922 in Tracy to Lloyd and Mary Mae Anderson. She attended country school in Murray County near Lake Fremont through the eighth grade. She graduated from Tracy High School in 1939. She attended practical nurses training at the Vocational Franklin Hospital in Minneapolis becoming licensed as a LPN nurse. Upon graduation she returned to Tracy and began practicing her profession with Drs. Holiday and Workman. She then worked briefly in Mayville, ND at City Hospital and Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar MN a total of three years before returning to Tracy where she worked another 51 years at the Clinic and Tracy Municipal Hospitals, retiring in 1991.

On June 25, 1948 Marie and Fred Sanow were married at the Tracy Lutheran Church. They made their home and raised their family in Tracy MN during the remainder of their lives.

Marie enjoyed making patchwork quilts. She also loved outdoor activities including gardening, Bullhead fishing, boating and her daily neighborhood walks. Growing up on a rural Tracy farm she loved animals, especially horses and dogs.

Her greatest love though was her family. She is survived by her children Donna (George) Questad of Crooks SD, Ron (Bonnie) Sanow of Brainerd MN, David (Theresa) Sanow of Lewiston MN; Grandchildren Todd Myhre, Jodi Myhre, Curtis Sanow, Christina Sanow, Laura (Grant) Venekamp Fisher and one Great Grandchild, Ben Myhre.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred, a sister Margaret Anderson, both parents and many relatives.

Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Vroman, 76, of Milroy, were held on Friday, February 20, 2015, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Milroy. Interment followed the service at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery.

Helen Catherine Vroman was born on February 27, 1938, in Green Valley, to Camiel and Magdeline (Polman) Louwagie. She attended grade school in Green Valley and graduated from Central Catholic High School in Marshall.

On July 1, 1957, she was united in marriage to Richard Vroman. The couple farmed and raised their family near Milroy. In addition to raising her family, she was a partner in the farm operation. Helen also worked at a variety of jobs including First National Bank, The Schwan Food Company, Lyon Financial, US Bank, and most recently as a greeter for ACMC. Helen enjoyed quilting, gardening and took great pride in her yard. She was comforted and inspired from time spent at the ocean. Helen was most passionate about her grandchildren. “Nana” had an exceptional relationship with the grandchildren. She loved, cherished and mentored them whenever she could.

Helen died on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at the Morningside Heights Transitions unit in Marshall after a short but dignified and grace filled battle with pancreatic cancer.

She is survived by her husband Richard “Dick” of Milroy, children Rhonda (Dave Alexander) of Phoenix, Dean (and Alice) of Milroy, Tom (and Linda Okins) of Milroy, Jill (and Bob Jacobson) of Marshall, grandchildren Daniel and Jordyn, Tony, Jackie, Jen and Andrew, Jared, Adam and Chantal, Charlie and Rylee Helen, great-grandchild Brayden, siblings George (and Cathy), Ern (and Jane), Bernice (and Chuck), Darlene (and Mike), Shirley (and Rick), nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
