Glenora Florence Fick was born in Tracy, Minnesota to Hector (H.A.) and Isabelle (Jette) Surprenant on August 10, 1927; although, most people know her only as “Fatt”.  Fatt left this earth and entered eternity on November 1, 2016 at the age of 89 years, 2 months, and 22 days.  Fatt was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and graduated from Tracy High School.  Following graduation, Fatt worked at the dental office of Dr. Blake in Tracy.

Even though she vowed to never marry a farmer, Fatt fell in love with and married Lewis Fick on October 6, 1947.  To this union six children were born: Lynette, Christine, Terry, LuAnn, Lewis, and Lisa.  Fatt was a devoted wife and mother who volunteered many years of service as a catechism teacher and to the Ladies Aid group at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.  Fatt was a wonderful cook.  She and her friends started Town and Country Catering in the 1970’s and continued catering for many years. Fatt enjoyed helping others and often would bring cookies or a hot dish to someone she thought might need it.  Fatt was a past member of the Revere Fire Department and the American Legion Auxiliary.  Fatt moved from her home in Revere to Country View in Walnut Grove in September of 2014.  Among Fatt’s pleasures were dancing, fishing trips to Canada with Lewis, decorating her house for the holidays, playing cards with “the ladies”, going out on Saturday night for church and dinner with Annabelle, and being with her family.

Fatt is survived by her five remaining children and their spouses: Lynette (Gene) Jacobsen of Tucson, AZ, Terry (Chuck) Weiand of St. Paul, LuAnn (Bruce) Hansen of Walnut Grove, Lewis (Pat Jaramillo) of West Jordan, UT, and Lisa (Don) Raveling of Marshall; 8 grandchildren: Michael (Kristine) Jacobsen, Kate (Joe) Stevens, Chris (Lora Hopp) Hansen, Laurie (Aaron) Chittum, Breanna (Chris) McDaniel, Cody (Erin) Raveling, Darrin Fick, and Tyler Jaramillo Fick; 9 great grandchildren: Elianna Stevens, Jack and Logan Jacobsen, Kate and Carrie Chittum, Jayden and McKenzie McDaniel, Eden and Beau Raveling; sisters Liola Cornelius, Lenora Hoffman, and LaVonne Allen; twin brother Glenn; sister-in-law Shirley Eilefson; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, spouse Lewis, infant daughter Christine, and brother Ernest.

“She heard the ice rattling in the glass and went home.”  Blessed be her memory.
